Orange Beach golf courses explained: the city par-3, Lost Key and Perdido Bay 20 minutes east, the Gulf Shores courses west, drive times, fees, hotels.

Of all the Orange Beach golf courses people search for, only one is inside the city: the Orange Beach Golf Center, a city-run nine-hole par-3 with a lighted range. For regulation golf, most Orange Beach visitors drive about 20 minutes east to Lost Key or Perdido Bay on Perdido Key, Florida, or 10 to 20 minutes west to the Gulf Shores golf courses on Hwy 59.
That means where you stay in Orange Beach decides which of the Orange Beach golf courses are easy to reach. This guide lists every course within about 40 minutes, with drive times from three Orange Beach bases, fees seen October 2026, and the hotels that suit golfers.
Orange Beach golf courses and drive times
Drive times are free-flow road estimates from our routing (add time on summer Saturdays). Fees are 18-hole ranges seen October 2026 unless noted, and will change.
| Course | From Hampton Inn (central OB) | From Perdido Beach Resort (east) | From The Wharf (SpringHill) | Fees seen Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Orange Beach Golf Center (par-3 nine) | 7 min | 9 min | 4 min | $15-$30 |
| Lost Key | 21 min | 18 min | 29 min | $65-$95 |
| Perdido Bay | 22 min | 20 min | 31 min | $50-$85 |
| Gulf Shores Golf Club | 17 min | 20 min | 9 min | $79-$139 |
| Craft Farms (Cotton Creek, Cypress Bend) | 18 min | 20 min | 10 min | Daily rate not published; winter Six-Pack $70-$85 a round |
| GlenLakes (Foley) | 22 min | 25 min | 15 min | $37-$86 |
| Peninsula | 24 min | 27 min | 18 min | From $89 (winter) |
| Kiva Dunes | 33 min | 37 min | 28 min | $107-$175 |
| Soldiers Creek (Elberta) | 37 min | 39 min | 29 min | $49-$65 |
The pattern is simple. East-end hotels are closest to Lost Key and Perdido Bay. The Wharf, on the Intracoastal, is closest to the Gulf Shores and Foley courses. Central Orange Beach is roughly in the middle.
The only course in town: Orange Beach Golf Center
The Orange Beach Golf Center is the City of Orange Beach's municipal par-3 nine and driving range, at 4700 Easy Street off Canal Road (Hwy 180), about 1.25 miles east of the Foley Beach Express. There are no tee times; it is first come, first served.
- Hours: course 8 AM to 5 PM daily; range 7 AM to 9 PM, lighted; pro shop 7 AM to 5 PM.
- Fees (flat all year): 9 holes $20 with cart or $15 walking; 18 holes $30 with cart or $25 walking; each extra nine $10.
- Range: 30 grass tees and 10 covered mat tees, $5 for a 34-ball bucket, plus putting and chipping greens and a practice bunker.
- Rentals: $25 adult, $10 youth. Pull carts $3.
The holes are short: on our map they run from about 74 to 176 yards. It is good for kids, beginners, a $15 walking nine, or a night session on the lighted range before a round the next day. Annual memberships start at $250 for residents.
East of Orange Beach: Lost Key and Perdido Bay
These two are just over the Florida line on Perdido Key, still on Central time, and the closest regulation golf to most Orange Beach hotels.
Lost Key Golf Club is a par 71 redesigned by Arnold Palmer Design Group in 2006, with Sea Dwarf paspalum from tee to green. It is tight and wet, with a 143 slope from the 6,801-yard Black tees. The rack rate is $95 before 1 PM and $75 after, plus 7.5% tax and a 3% card fee, but online prices in late October 2026 were $80 and $65. Booking opens 14 days ahead at midnight Central. Recent GolfPass reviewers gave conditions top marks. Full details are in our Lost Key Golf Club guide.
Perdido Bay Golf Club is a long, watery par 72 (7,052 yards, 74.3 / 138 from the Gold tees) that hosted the PGA Tour's Pensacola Open from 1978 to 1987. Its 2026 rate card (March 2 to November 2, tax included) was $85 for 18 from 7:30 AM to 1 PM, $65 from 1 to 3 PM and $50 at twilight. The $70 local rate covers Baldwin County residents, so Orange Beach owners with ID qualify. No singles or twosomes before 10 AM. Recent reviews call the greens slow, and winter fairways may be dormant.
The two are about 9 minutes apart, so they make an easy Florida-side golf day. Our Perdido Key golf guide covers both.
West of Orange Beach: the Gulf Shores golf courses
From The Wharf or central Orange Beach, the Hwy 59 corridor in Gulf Shores is 9 to 20 minutes away.
- Gulf Shores Golf Club, the original 1964 course, renovated by Jay and Carter Morrish in 2005-06. Twilight was $99 in October and $79 from 12:30 PM in early December. See the Gulf Shores Golf Club guide.
- Craft Farms, two Arnold Palmer courses on one property. The winter Six-Pack is $420 for six rounds (about $70 each, orders due November 15, 2026). See the Craft Farms golf guide.
- GlenLakes in Foley, a Devlin-von Hagge links-style 18 and the area's best value. Online rates dropped to about $49 after 1:40 PM and $37 after 3 PM in October 2026, and online bookings are prepaid and non-cancelable.
Farther west, Peninsula and Kiva Dunes sit on the Fort Morgan peninsula, 24 to 37 minutes from Orange Beach. Kiva Dunes is the top-ranked public course in the area (Golf Digest's #13 in Alabama for 2025-26) and worth the drive once; our Kiva Dunes golf guide has the details.
Soldiers Creek in Elberta is cheap ($65 before 1 PM, $49 after, with cart) but recent reviews (August to October 2026) are poor on conditions, so read the latest before booking.
A note on Gulf State Park golf
Several hotel listings in Orange Beach still mention a Gulf State Park golf course. It closed permanently in December 2018, and the site is being converted to a campground. If a listing sells a hotel as "near Gulf State Park golf", read that as a 9- to 12-minute drive from the hotels beside the park to Gulf Shores Golf Club, the nearest regulation course.

Getting to Orange Beach for golf
Pensacola (PNS) is the main airport, about 56 minutes from Orange Beach. The route via Perdido Key (Hwy 292 and Perdido Beach Blvd) avoids Hwy 59 entirely and passes Lost Key and Perdido Bay on the way in. Mobile Regional (MOB) is about 1 hour 42 minutes away. More in flying to Gulf Shores for golf.
The Foley Beach Express bridge over the Intracoastal has been toll-free since May 2024, so older pages quoting a toll are out of date.
