The wind is the story. On the links-style holes at Kiva Dunes, Golf Digest notes the holes run east-west, so the breeze crosses nearly every fairway. For Magnolia Grove, that leaves a clean window: Crossings the week of March 8 and Falls from March 15, or either course after March 22. Gulf Shores itself banned alcohol on its beaches from March 1 to April 28 in 2026; the 2027 window hadn't been voted on.

Gulf Shores Golf Club and GlenLakes hadn't shown March 2027 rates. Their latest published figures were $139 riding in the morning (October-November 2026) and $86 plus tax before 1:52 PM on GlenLakes' 2026 card.
Two March-specific money tips:
- Craft Farms card holders should play Sunday to Thursday. The Extended card isn't valid on Fridays or Saturdays in March. Both Cypress Bend and Cotton Creek are covered.
- Do your RTJ golf in the first week. The same two-day Lakewood special is $35 a day cheaper before March 8.
What do the courses look like in March?
Gulf Coast bermuda that isn't overseeded stays dormant, tan but playable, from about December to March, so early March can still look wintry while late March greens up. Peninsula says it keeps fairways, tees and greens green all winter (see the Peninsula course guide). Most courses don't publish their practice. Spring break traffic and lodging
March is spring-break season, and it shapes golf in Gulf Shores in March as much as the wind does:
- Avoid Saturday on Hwy 59. It's condo check-in day; arrive Friday or midweek.
- Use the Beach Express. The Foley Beach Express bridge has been toll-free since May 2024.
- From Pensacola (PNS) to Orange Beach, the Perdido Key route skips Hwy 59 entirely. PNS is about 56 minutes from Orange Beach and 69 from Gulf Shores, free-flow.
