Destin snowbird rentals: monthly winter condos near the golf courses

Destin snowbird rentals run from about $1,875 a month for a November condo at Newman-Dailey, plus fees and taxes, to $3,850 a month for a three-bedroom Gulf-front unit in January or February. Most programs run November to early March with a one- or two-month minimum. Pick the area by golf: east Destin for Regatta Bay and Kelly Plantation, Sandestin for its snowbird golf card.

Destin snowbird rentals compared

Times are routed free-flow estimates from each program's map point. Newman-Dailey units are spread across the area, so its times are from its office.

Newman-Dailey: the long-running snowbird program

Newman-Dailey Resort Properties runs Destin's best-documented snowbird program. Monthly winter rates are up to 50% off standard weekly rates, from $1,875 a month for November on an undated page. To qualify for the monthly rate you book two months or more, though individual promos allow 30 to 90 nights.

What is included: a furnished home or condo with linens, utilities and internet. The company has run snowbird socials in past seasons, including happy hours, coffee mornings and a farewell party.

Season: November 1 to March 7 for beachfront units, or to March 13 for beach-view and near-beach units.

Dated example (last season): Crystal Dunes 503, a three-bedroom, three-bath Gulf-front condo in east Destin by Henderson Beach that sleeps eight. It was $3,850 a month for January or February alone and $3,550 a month for both, for stays from November 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026. 2026-27 figures were not yet seen.

Sandestin: rent direct for the golf card

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort advertises a Winter Guest package for 28 nights or more from October to March, with no resort fees. Its units range from studios to six-bedroom homes, and most condos have full kitchens and in-unit laundry. Nightly and monthly rates were not read; check rates.

The reason to book here is golf. Extended-stay guests who rent directly through Sandestin Rentals get the Snowbird card for November 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027:

All plus tax. Cardholders also get nine holes after 1 PM at half rate at the Links and Baytowne. Burnt Pine is not included. Watch the small print: many Sandestin units are privately owned and rented by outside managers, who may not include resort-guest golf rates or amenities, so renting direct is what gets the Snowbird card. Okaloosa Island: Destin West Beach & Bay Resort

Owner condos in the Gulfside and Bayside towers at Destin West Beach & Bay Resort advertise low monthly winter rates for November through February, but no dollar amounts were visible. The rules are clear:

• Book one calendar month, arriving and departing on the 1st; other dates need pre-approval.
• January and February booked together get the standard monthly rate; February alone costs more.
• $150 cleaning fee on monthly rentals.
• Not available to guests under 25. No trailer parking.

Resort pools include a lazy river. It is 17 minutes from Fort Walton Beach Golf Club, 20 from Gator Lakes and 21 from Shalimar Pointe, whose snowbird membership is $1,150 for three months for a single golfer. See the FWB Pines course guide.

Destin RV Beach Resort's condos

This small gated RV park in Miramar Beach also has two on-site condos. Its Winter Snowbird Special is a one-bedroom condo at $2,150 a month plus fees and taxes, November 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027, with a 30-night minimum and a $500 security deposit. Guests get the heated pool and private gated beach access. It is 7 minutes from the Links and 8 from Baytowne, but as a non-Sandestin rental it does not get the Snowbird card; whether it counts for the Winter Player's Club (28+ nights through another agency) was not stated, so ask Sandestin.

Other options with golf nearby

• Sandpiper Cove Par 3: the gated Sandpiper Cove condo resort is described as a popular snowbird and family base, and its nine-hole par 3 is free for guests, per rental listings. It is 4 minutes from Destin Harbor.
• Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village: one- to four-bedroom condo suites on Destin Harbor. Expect a mandatory resort fee of about $45 to $50 a night plus per-stay service and cleaning fees on booking sites, and bar noise.
• Kelly Plantation rentals: private homes in the gated community, on the course, but with no rental-guest golf discount. The course is public anyway.

Choosing an area by golf

• East Destin (Crystal Dunes, Kelly Plantation): Regatta Bay, Kelly Plantation, Indian Bayou and Emerald Bay within about 10 minutes, plus Bluewater Bay over the Mid-Bay Bridge.
• Sandestin and Miramar Beach: four Sandestin courses and the Snowbird card.
• Okaloosa Island: the Fort Walton Beach city courses, Shalimar Pointe and Gator Lakes, all about 16 to 21 minutes.

Daytime weather is similar across these areas, but north-of-the-bay courses run about 7F colder at night.
