Drive lines from downtown Yuma: Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course in Yuma: What We Know in 2026

Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course is a flat nine-hole, par-36 course inside Fortuna de Oro RV Resort, a Cal-Am 55+ park in the Fortuna Foothills east of Yuma. It appears to be operating: the resort lists it, and it ran a staffed 2025-26 season to Apr 13, 2026. No green fees or visitor policy are published, so call 928-342-4766 first.

Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course is mainly an amenity for the resort's residents. If you are staying there, it puts a regulation nine with a range on your doorstep. If you are not, check with the pro shop before you drive over.

Quick facts

  • Where: inside Fortuna de Oro RV Resort, 13650 N Frontage Rd, Yuma, in the Fortuna Foothills, about 23 minutes (16.4 miles) from downtown Yuma to the resort entrance. On the map: Fortuna Del Rey.
  • Course: nine holes, par 36; White 3,069 yards, Red 2,847 yards.
  • Status: operating, per the resort page and 2025-26 newsletters; 2026-27 start date not published.
  • Visitor access: not documented by the resort. Call first.
  • Green fees: not published.

Is Fortuna Del Rey open?

Here is what the evidence shows about Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course as of October 23, 2026:

  • Cal-Am's resort page was live, with a 2026-27 rate card posted in March 2026, and it lists the nine-hole golf course, the range and the putting area.
  • The 2025-26 resort newsletters show the pro shop open Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 4 PM, with leagues from November 2025 to March 2026.
  • The newsletters list "golf course last day" as Apr 13, 2026, after which play was on an honor system at $10.
  • The golf app Hole19 logged rounds at the course in February and July 2026.

We rate our confidence that it is operating as medium. No 2026-27 season start date is published. The winter leagues ran November to March, which suggests a fall overseed and a November start, but that is not confirmed.

Can visitors play Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course?

This is the open question. Golf Digest, GolfPass and other listings call the course open to the public, and an older listing says resort guests get a discount. The resort itself publishes no visitor policy and no green fees, and it only documents resident play. Its weekly leagues are for residents only, and the Tuesday and Wednesday leagues only for residents staying a month or more.

So if you are not staying at Fortuna de Oro, phone the pro shop (928-342-4766) before you go and ask whether outside play is allowed on the day, what it costs and whether you need to check in at the resort office. There is no online booking.

What is known about green fees

Nothing current. The resort publishes no green fees (checked October 23, 2026). Third-party listings give different prices that carry no date, so we leave them out. The April 2026 resort newsletter described honor-system play at $10 after the pro shop closed for the season, but it does not say whether that applied to non-residents. Carts and rental clubs are available and walking is allowed, according to third-party listings.

The course

Fortuna Del Rey Golf Course is a flat, tree-lined nine-hole regulation course, par 36. Third-party listings credit Jesse Gomez as designer and give 1992 as the opening year. It is not in the USGA ratings database; a listing shows 36.0 with a 109 slope for the White tees, but that is not a USGA figure. We rate it 2 of 5 for difficulty. GolfPass lists "appropriate golf attire" as the dress code.

Staying at Fortuna de Oro RV Resort

Fortuna de Oro RV Resort is a Cal-Am 55+ park with about 1,200 sites. Its 2026-27 rate card took effect May 1, 2026 (seen October 23, 2026), and prices exclude tax:

Stay Back-in site Pull-through site
Daily$72$84
Weekly$415$495
Monthly$1,090Not listed
3 months$3,145Not listed
4 months$3,970Not listed

As we read the card, electric, sewer and trash are billed monthly on top of the monthly and multi-month rates; the PDF layout is ambiguous, so confirm when you book. An extra person is $3 a day or $50 a month. New guests can get one month at $495 for January, February or March 2027, but reservations made before Aug 28, 2026 and park models are excluded.

The rules are strict. RVs must be at least 22 feet long, fully self-contained and under 10 years old, with exceptions at management's discretion. The full rent for the term is due at check-in, and RV site fees are non-refundable. Stays of a month or more need a $250 deposit, refundable less $100 with 30 days' written notice before arrival. Rates assume up to two people and two pets.

Beyond golf the resort has two pools and spas, pickleball, tennis, bocce, shuffleboard, a woodshop, a recreation hall and a restaurant and sports bar. Compare it with other parks in Yuma RV resorts with golf, and for the travel and stay rules from Canada see Canadian snowbirds in Yuma.

Fortuna Del Rey vs the other RV-resort courses
