Cover: Cheap golf in Tucson: the lowest green fees, hot deals and value courses

Cheap golf in Tucson means the city courses, the public courses in Green Valley and Marana, and prepaid hot deals in summer. The lowest fees we saw in 2026 were $18.99 to $24.99 with a cart at Torres Blancas (September) and about $21 to $24 at Forty Niner (August). Winter fees were mostly not published, and the fall prices we saw were higher.

Prices below were seen in summer and fall 2026 unless noted. They float with demand and season, and some are from tee-time resale listings, so treat them as a guide and check the tee sheet for your date.

Quick facts

  • Lowest fees seen: Torres Blancas $18.99 to $24.99 with cart (September 2026 GolfNow).
  • Cheapest city courses: El Rio and Silverbell, about $29 to $33 in summer 2026 listings.
  • City Card: $50 plus tax for the rest of 2026 (earlier $119), card rates at all five city courses.

Cheap golf in Tucson by area

Central and west. The five city courses are run for the city by OB Sports under the Tucson City Golf name. El Rio is 7 minutes from downtown, a flat par 70 with old trees; Mondays and Tuesdays had specials in June 2026. Silverbell, 14 minutes out, is a long, open par 70. Randolph North and Dell Urich share a midtown complex 10 minutes away, and winter rates there were reported from $50 (undated). Our Tucson city golf courses guide compares all five.

East side. Fred Enke is the one city course built as desert target golf, with a 135 slope from the 6,809-yard back tees. No current fee was published, but it is the cheap way to try desert golf before paying resort rates. Forty Niner, at the far east end of Tanque Verde Road, sells public tee times on GolfNow; it publishes no rate card, so the summer low $20s are the only prices seen.

Green Valley. Three public courses sit within 13 minutes of the Best Western at I-19 Exit 65. Torres Blancas, a Lee Trevino design, prices dynamically and includes the cart, sales tax and practice green in its green fee. Haven is flat, walkable and the oldest course in town. San Ignacio, an Arthur Hills design, is the dearest of the three in fall. See Green Valley golf.

Northwest and Marana. Quarry Pines is the budget pick, though reviews complain of slow rounds up to five hours. Crooked Tree is mid-priced and was one of the few nearby courses taking times through overseed in late October 2026.

How to pay less

  1. Play in summer. Most courses drop to summer rates from about May. June averages a 101.2F high, so book the first tee time. Our Tucson summer golf guide covers the heat and the monsoon.
  2. Buy the City Card if you play city courses. At $50 plus tax for the rest of 2026, it includes one free round, card rates every round, guest rates for up to three guests, 7-day advance booking and 50% off a first range package. Earlier 2026 terms said the card expires December 31, 2026, and a 2027 card had not been published.
  3. Use prepaid hot deals, carefully. Most of the lowest prices above were GolfNow hot deals. Torres Blancas and Quarry Pines listings added a $10 non-refundable deposit plus fees, and Haven reservations open 7 days ahead for two or more players (undated listing).
  4. Compare the club site. Torres Blancas says its rates change in real time with demand. Sewailo also uses dynamic pricing, with an undated range of $69 to $161 including cart.
  5. Watch the jump into the season. San Ignacio's late-October 2026 rates ($41.88 to $71.61) were well above its September deals ($27.99 to $43.99).
  6. Look for twilight. Few courses publish a twilight rate. Quail Creek listed twilight unlimited at $37, cart not included, under its summer 2026 fees.

A cheap week of Tucson golf

Using the lowest prices seen in summer 2026, five rounds could look like this. These are prepaid hot-deal or listing prices for specific dates, so your week will differ.

Round Course Price seen
1Torres Blancas, Green Valley$24.99 with cart (top of the September range)
2Haven, Green Valley$22.99 with cart
3Quarry Pines, Marana$23.99
4Forty Niner, far east sideAbout $24 with cart
5El Rio, centralAbout $32.66 (top of the summer range)

That is about $129 for five rounds before fees, deposits and tax. The catch is geography: Green Valley, Marana and the far east side are spread out, with Forty Niner about 35 minutes from downtown and Torres Blancas about 40. A cheaper week in practice picks courses close to your base. Fall prices were already higher: Haven went from $22.99 in August to $44.99 in mid-October.

Value is not only the cheapest fee

A round under $25 in August is good value. In February, the better value can be a winter pass. SaddleBrooke One sold renters an unlimited Renters Play Pass at $580 a month in its 2026 golf year, and Quail Creek renters paid $84 for 18 in prime season instead of the $130 non-resident rate. If you play four or five times a week, that beats daily fees. Our Tucson golf passes and Tucson golf rates guides set out the numbers.

Some of Tucson's best value is also its best golf. The Torres Blancas course guide and Fred Enke course guide explain why both punch above their price.

Cheap golf that is not on offer

Private clubs are not open to visitors at any price: Skyline, Tucson Country Club, Oro Valley Country Club, Stone Canyon and the Green Valley member clubs, Desert Hills and the Country Club of Green Valley. The Golf Club at Dove Mountain is for Ritz-Carlton guests and members only. Voyager is a 1,003-yard par-3 nine aimed at guests of its RV resort.

If you want a cheaper winter town altogether, our cheap golf in Yuma guide is the comparison. For a full trip budget, see Tucson golf trip cost.

Plan it on the map
