The best driving range Tucson options for visitors are at the city courses and the bigger resort and daily-fee clubs: the Randolph complex and Silverbell in town, Starr Pass and Sewailo on the resort side, and Haven, Torres Blancas, San Ignacio and Quail Creek in Green Valley. Few publish range prices; Torres Blancas charged $5 for a bucket in 2026.
This driving range Tucson guide lists each practice facility, what it has, what it costs where published, and how the city's range card works. Details were seen in October 2026 and change.

The city ranges
For a cheap, central driving range, Tucson golfers start with the city courses.
The five City of Tucson courses are run by OB Sports under the Tucson City Golf name. Minutes of the city's Greens Committee from August 20, 2026 say Randolph, Fred Enke and Silverbell will share identical range machines and universal range cards, so one card should work at all three once the system is in place.
Randolph complex. The range serves both Randolph North and the shorter Dell Urich course, and the complex has a restaurant and golf shop. It is 10 minutes from downtown, the most central practice option. Note the early June aeration and the October overseed window in recent years. The Randolph North course guide covers the course.
Silverbell. A long, flat west-side course with a range, 14 minutes from downtown. It closed for overseed from September 15 to October 3, 2025.
The City Card. The 2026 card was on sale for $50 plus tax for the rest of 2026 on the page read in October 2026. Its perks include 50% off a first range package, 10% off food and 15% off the golf shop, along with card rates on every round. It expires December 31, 2026, and a 2027 card had not been published.
Resort and daily-fee practice
Starr Pass has the most complete listing in central Tucson: range, chipping area, putting green and a teaching pro. It is the club of the JW Marriott Starr Pass, so guests can walk to it, and it also takes outside play. See the Starr Pass course guide.
Sewailo listed its practice facility as open 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM in fall. It is next to Casino Del Sol on the south side, about 15 minutes from the airport, which makes it a good arrival-day warm-up. Its 2026 overseed closed the course from September 14 to October 1.
Forty Niner lists a driving range, putting green and short-game area, and it sells public tee times. It suits east-side snowbirds who want a regular practice spot as well as a regular game.
Resorts for guests. The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain lists complimentary club rentals and lessons enrollment for guests, and Loews Ventana Canyon offers club rentals that include six balls.
Green Valley practice
Green Valley has the densest set of practice facilities for snowbirds.
- Haven is the standout. It has a driving range, chipping green, bunker and putting green, plus a 9-hole, walking-only pitch-and-putt with holes of 50 to 90 yards. That makes it a cheap warm-up or a beginner option, and it is the most walkable course in Green Valley. The Haven course guide has the details.
- Torres Blancas includes practice-green use in the green fee and sells range balls at $5 for a bucket of 35 to 40. Call its Frost and Heat Index line, 520-352-1082, on cold mornings.
- San Ignacio has a driving range and sells an annual range membership, price not published.
- Quail Creek has a range, putting green and practice bunker. Non-residents pay $5 for range tokens.
Our Green Valley golf guide covers the courses themselves.
Tubac
Tubac Golf Resort has a driving range, three practice greens and a putting green. In 2026 it closed the range May 19 to 21, the short-game greens May 21 to 22 and the putting green June 10 to 11 for maintenance, so check dates if you are visiting in late spring. See our Tubac Golf Resort guide.
RV resort practice
Voyager RV Resort has its own 9-hole par-3 course, a 1,003-yard nine, with a practice net and putting green. It is aimed at residents, and green fees were not published. It is useful for a wedge-and-putter session if you are staying there; for a full range, Fred Enke is about 14 minutes away and the Randolph complex about 18. Our Tucson RV resorts for golfers guide covers the parks.
What is not open to visitors
The General William Blanchard course on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base closed on May 1, 2018, keeping only its driving range and putting green. It was a military facility for ID-card holders and sponsored guests, so it is not an option for visiting golfers. Some directories still list the course as open; they are out of date.
When to practise
- Winter mornings: January lows average 40.8F at the airport and 36.1F in Green Valley, so an hour on the range while the frost clears is time well spent.
- Summer: practise at first light. Normal highs reach 101.2F in June, and the monsoon brings afternoon lightning from July to September.
- Fall overseed: many courses close or restrict play from mid-September into October, so call before driving out to practise.
