The back-tee slopes of 148 and 149 are the highest of any public course on our map. Most groups should play the Silver or Copper tees.
The Monument Course
Monument is the postcard Troon North course: high Sonoran desert target golf among granite boulders, with forced carries over desert and big views. It is the better known of the two and usually the more expensive tee time; in peak season expect $250 or more before twilight.
Its 2026 calendar was unusual. Monument was closed June 15 to September 12, listed under the aerification schedule with no reason given, then closed again for overseed October 4-24 and reopened October 25. Expect fresh-overseed conditions into early November. The Four Seasons notes that Monument is at times converted into a shorter "Monument Express" course.
Play it if you want the famous one and accept paying for it. See the Monument course guide.
The Pinnacle Course
Pinnacle is routed higher up toward Pinnacle Peak, slightly shorter and par 71. Its greens were renovated in a four-month project reported in 2018. It is usually about $30 cheaper than Monument on the same day, with just as much desert drama, and many locals rate it the better course.
Pinnacle closed for overseed September 20 to October 8 and reopened October 9, 2026, after a summer aerification closure from May 26 to June 14.
Play it if you want one Troon North round on a budget. See the Pinnacle course guide.

Practice and the clubhouse
The Troon North Golf Club practice facility, shared by both courses, is only for players with a tee time that day; no range passes are sold. The range opens at 5:30 am, closing at 3 pm Tuesday to Sunday and noon on Monday. There is a grass range, short-game area and putting greens, plus a Callaway Performance Center for fitting.
The clubhouse has the Dynamite Grille, a golf shop, caddie services, instruction, club rentals and club shipping. The club also sells packages through its Scottsdale Golf Retreat villas.
The Four Seasons at Troon North
Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is 7 minutes from both first tees. Guests get priority tee times and a free shuttle to the club; non-guests can book too. Pinnacle Peak hiking is nearby.
Watch-outs from the files: rates are among the Valley's highest (not captured for 2026-27), a resort fee was not confirmed either way, reviews mention crowded tee sheets and slow play in season, and Old Town is 35 minutes or more away. It suits couples or small groups on a splurge trip built around Troon North. Compare it in Scottsdale golf resorts.
For dinner closer than Old Town, Mastro's has a steakhouse on E Pinnacle Peak Rd in north Scottsdale.
Private clubs nearby
Troon Country Club, Weiskopf and Morrish's 1986 course, is private: members and invited guests, with published reciprocity with Royal Troon. Desert Highlands and the Estancia Club, also a few minutes away, are members and accompanied guests only. See private golf clubs in Scottsdale.
