From the Gold tees El Rio is the second-longest course near Laughlin after Laughlin Ranch (7,155 yards), but most groups belong on the Black tees at 6,638 yards.
The course
El Rio is a long, open desert-valley course near the river. The fairways are bermuda, overseeded with rye in winter, and the greens are overseeded with rye too. It sits outside Bullhead City limits, which is why the city's golf page does not list it.
The course has had ups and downs. Locals bought it and reopened it in 2015. Reviews have rated conditions only fair, but an April 12, 2026 reviewer said conditions were "100% better than last year" under new management, with the restaurant open. Reviews run from January 30 to July 18, 2026, and Greenskeeper carries a review of a round played on February 28, 2026.
El Rio Golf Club Mohave Valley rates
El Rio does not publish a rate card, and no 2026-27 winter rates were found. The only current-season figure is from summer: GolfNow listed times at $45 with a cart for August 7-11, 2026. When it sold through GolfNow, El Rio took a 20% deposit at booking.

This is the part that changed in fall 2026. On October 27, 2026 the GolfNow course page, the GolfNow and TeeOff facility search and the indexed tee-time pages for El Rio all returned errors or showed no times. The course appears to have left GolfNow, and no replacement booking system, September or October 2026 review or closure notice was found.
What that means:
- Book by phone: 928-768-3574, with 928-577-0123 as a second listed number.
- Do not rely on an app: there is no official website and no online sheet was found.
- Confirm it is open: the club was on the Arizona Golf Association's 2026 overseed schedule, which shows it planned to operate this fall, but no live October tee sheet was seen.

Overseed and conditions in fall
The Arizona Golf Association's 2026 Overseeding Schedule lists El Rio as closed from September 1, 2026, reopening September 27, 2026. Reviews have mentioned thin fairways while the rye fills in, including a December 2024 review, so call ahead in fall and ask how the overseed has taken.

The Arizona clock
El Rio Golf Club in Mohave Valley runs on Arizona time, which has no daylight saving. From November 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027, Arizona is one hour ahead of Laughlin: 9:00 AM in Mohave Valley is 8:00 AM on Casino Drive. A Laughlin casino guest with a winter tee time at El Rio must leave an hour earlier by the hotel clock. From March 14, 2027 both sides show the same time. El Rio is one of four 18-hole courses at the south end of the valley, around Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley and the Avi.

Los Lagos in Fort Mohave is similar in length and price but had a storm-damaged front nine in 2025. Huukan Golf Club, the former Desert Lakes, is shorter and gentler. Mojave Resort Golf Club, beside the Avi, is on Pacific time, so mind the clock if you play it and El Rio on the same trip. For the big-ticket round, Laughlin Ranch in Bullhead City charges $137-$169 for non-residents from November to April.
