Average high by month: The best time to golf in Laughlin, month by month

The best time to golf in Laughlin is November or March: mid-70s afternoons, dry weather and fresh rye turf. January to March is peak season, with the busiest tee sheets and highest winter rates. Summer is cheapest but means dawn rounds in 105-110F heat, and September to early October brings overseed closures.

Afternoons along the river suit golf from late October to April. What changes from month to month is price, crowds, morning chill and whether your course is closed for overseed. Here is how each month plays, so you can pick the best time to golf in Laughlin for your budget and your tolerance for heat or crowds.

Quick facts

  • Best weather: March (77.4F high) and November (74.1F), both with fresh or mature rye.

How the price changes through the year

Laughlin Ranch, the top course in the area, shows the yearly price curve best. It publishes seven rate bands for non-residents with a mandatory cart, on a table labelled 2027:

Period Fri-Sun Mon-Thu
Nov 20 to Jan 31$147$137
Feb 1-21$157$147
Feb 22 to Apr 11$169$159
Apr 12 to May 23$162$150
May 24 to Jun 20$124$104
Jun 21 to Jul 11$97$90
Jul 12 to Sep 20$87$80
Sep 21 to Nov 19$169$159

Two things stand out. Late February to mid-April and the post-overseed fall are priced the same, at the top. And midsummer is roughly half the peak rate. Pricing is dynamic and can go higher, and local residents with a local ZIP code pay much less. The Laughlin Ranch course guide has the details.

Peak season: January to March

For many snowbirds this is the best time to golf in Laughlin, and these are the months winter visitors come for. Visitors from western Canada, the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest fill the RV resorts from Bullhead City to Lake Havasu, morning tee times go first, and season passes are at their peak. Book weekly tee times and long stays well ahead.

January has mid-60s afternoons and mid-40s dawns, so early tee times are cold and frost delays are possible. February is the wettest month, with about 1.2 inches over three or four days, though that still leaves most days dry. The Havasu Balloon Festival runs January 21-24, 2027.

March is upper 70s and among the best weather of the year. It is also the last full month of winter-visitor season, and college spring break fills Lake Havasu City, pushing up Havasu room rates and weekend traffic. Laughlin itself feels little of it. Arizona and Nevada clocks match again from March 14, 2027.

Laughlin casino rooms stay cheap midweek even in peak season. See Laughlin winter golf for how a long stay works.

Spring shoulder: April

April is mid-80s and almost dry. Winter visitors leave through the month and tee times open up, and many courses ease their rates. The exception is the last week or so. The Mayhem Motorcycle Rally in Bullhead City (April 23-26 in 2026) and Desert Storm boat racing in Lake Havasu City push up weekend room rates and traffic. Our Laughlin golf in spring guide covers both.

Summer: May to September

May reaches the mid-90s and summer rates begin at most courses. June to August run about 105-110F, with lows near 82F in July and August, so even dawn is warm. Golf becomes a first-light activity: book the earliest tee time, ride a cart, carry far more water than usual and finish before late morning.

Some courses change their schedule. Los Lagos runs 5 AM to noon from June to early September. Mojave Golf's site says Huukan is closed from June 1 until its overseed is done, about October 1. El Rio sold $45-with-cart tee times in August 2026. Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day weekends fill the river with boaters, not golfers. See Laughlin summer golf.

Fall: overseed, then the season starts

From September, courses close in turn for two to four weeks while ryegrass grows in. In 2026 Mojave Resort closed September 8 to October 8, and courses can run cart-path-only for a short spell after reopening. The Mojave Resort course guide covers its Nevada-side layout and Pacific-time tee sheet. A few go later: Emerald Canyon near Parker closed October 1 to November 1, the Lake Havasu West course was shut in late October, and Chaparral is closed until November 10. See Laughlin golf overseed.

October is high 80s and busy with events. The Laughlin Desert Classic off-road race (October 15-19, 2026) fills casino rooms, especially at the Aquarius, and Lake Havasu hosts the IJSBA jet ski World Finals (October 3-11, 2026). By late October the fresh rye is at its best.

November is one of the best golf months: mid-70s, dry, new turf and rates usually below the January-March peak. Winter visitors arrive through the month and Thanksgiving week gets busy.

December cools to the mid-60s, with the coldest mornings of the year at about 44F. Short days push tee sheets into late morning and midday. Most winter visitors are in town by mid-month.

Which month for which golfer

  • Best conditions, price no object: March.
  • Best time to golf in Laughlin on a budget with good turf: November, when rates are usually below the January-March peak.
  • Best balance: November or April, avoiding late-April rally week.
  • Long winter stay: arrive in November, stay through March.
  • Cheapest rounds: June to August at dawn.
  • Casino golf weekend: midweek in January or February, when rooms stay cheap.
  • Avoid: September and early October without checking overseed.

Whatever month you pick, check the clock: from November 1 to March 14 the Arizona courses run an hour ahead of the casinos, as our Laughlin time zone guide explains. Comparing towns? See the best time to golf in Mesquite and the best time to golf in Yuma.
