Average high by month: Lake Las Vegas golf: Reflection Bay, private SouthShore and the two lake hotels

Lake Las Vegas golf is one public course and one private one. Reflection Bay is a 1998 Jack Nicklaus design with five holes along the lake, open to anyone. SouthShore Country Club is private. The Hilton and the Westin on the lake are Reflection Bay stay-and-play partners, 2 to 3 minutes from the first tee and about 30 minutes from the Strip.

This guide covers Reflection Bay in detail, what SouthShore means for visitors, the two lake hotels and what else is close. Reflection Bay does not publish a rate card, so we cannot quote a 2026 green fee; resort fees and drive times are from our research files.

Quick facts

  • Public: Reflection Bay Golf Club, Jack Nicklaus with Chet Williams, 1998, par 72.
  • Private: SouthShore Country Club, members and accompanied guests only.

Reflection Bay Golf Club

Reflection Bay is a Nicklaus Signature desert course with five holes along the shore of Lake Las Vegas. It was renovated and reopened at some point (the date was not captured), and the club's maintenance page explains its move to paspalum fairways. The clubhouse is 32,000 square feet, with a golf shop, the Bayside Grill and the High Performance Golf Institute for instruction. It is a cashless facility.

From the Gold tees it is one of the hardest public tests in the valley, with water on the lake holes. From Silver or Bronze it suits mixed-ability groups and couples. See the Reflection Bay course guide and the Reflection Bay Golf Club guide.

Rates and booking

No public rate card was found on November 4, 2026; rates show in the online booking engine. Clark County residents get special rates with a valid Nevada driver's licence or Nevada Seasonal Resident ID, and utility bills or photocopies are not accepted. Residents can book 7 days out; the non-resident window is not stated. Cancel at least 48 hours ahead or the card on file is charged. The club listed a Thanksgiving Day shotgun at 8:30 am on November 26, 2026.

Winter turf

The fairways are paspalum and are no longer overseeded; only the tee boxes get rye. In practice that means firm, tan fairways in winter rather than the bright green rye you see elsewhere, and off-colour turf after cold snaps. There is no fairway overseed to plan around, though 2026 dates for the tee overseed were not captured, so check before a fall booking. See Las Vegas golf overseed.

SouthShore Country Club

SouthShore is the private club at Lake Las Vegas, with an initiation fee plus dues. It is for members and their accompanied guests, and our research found no hotel or reciprocal route for visitors. It is 6 minutes from the Hilton. Play Reflection Bay instead. See private golf clubs in Las Vegas.

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa is a quiet lakeside resort and a Reflection Bay Stay-N-Play partner; call (800) 407-7723 for current packages, none of which were priced online. Hilton Honors points apply.

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa is the other partner, with the same Stay-N-Play line. A one-to-three-night Westin and Reflection Bay package was sold on UnderPar until May 31, 2026; no 2026-27 version was seen. Marriott Bonvoy points apply.

Both resort fees are low by Las Vegas standards: Strip hotels were mostly $51 to $62 a night in the same tracker. See Las Vegas resort fees and Las Vegas golf resorts.

Chimera, the former Tuscany, is the closest second round: a forgiving Ted Robinson Jr. course on Henderson's east side with a TrackMan range. The Legacy is the budget round. Cascata in Boulder City is the splurge, with a forecaddie included. See the Chimera course guide, Henderson golf courses and Boulder City golf.

Lake Las Vegas golf for snowbirds

Reflection Bay's local rate is open to holders of a Nevada Seasonal Resident ID as well as a Nevada driver's licence, so a winter visitor who gets one can book 7 days out at the resident rate. Amounts are not published. Remember that the paspalum fairways are not overseeded, so a winter of Lake Las Vegas golf means firm, tan fairways rather than green rye. RV bases a short drive away include Duck Creek RV Park on Boulder Hwy, 18 minutes from Reflection Bay, and Lake Mead RV Village, 28 minutes, which listed $800 to $950 a month in 2024. See Las Vegas winter golf for snowbirds.

Getting to Lake Las Vegas golf

Reflection Bay is 18 miles and about 33 minutes from the Strip at Flamingo Rd in free-flow traffic. A rental car makes sense here, because Chimera, The Legacy and Cascata are all a drive away too. Lake Las Vegas golf is a poor fit for a no-car trip.

Beyond golf at the lake

  • Lake Mead's Boulder Beach is the nearest swimming beach and picnic area on Lake Mead, between Lake Las Vegas and Boulder City; an NPS entrance fee applies.
  • River Mountains Loop Trail is a 34-mile paved loop that passes Lake Las Vegas, good for walking or a ride.
  • Clark County Wetlands Park is a free nature preserve along the Las Vegas Wash with flat trails and birding.

Who Lake Las Vegas golf suits

  • Couples: a quiet resort, a Nicklaus course on the doorstep and low resort fees.
  • Small groups: Reflection Bay one day, Chimera and Cascata on the others.
  • Not ideal for: groups who want the Strip every night, about 30 minutes each way.
