Biloxi summer golf runs from June to September, with normal highs of 88-90F, warm humid nights and afternoon storms on 12 to 14 days a month in June to August. It is the low-rate season at several courses, with Windance at $90 and The Preserve at $175. The rule is simple: take the first tee time and be done by early afternoon.

This guide covers the summer weather, which courses drop their rates and by how much, the aerification weeks to avoid, the summer events that fill hotels and what to do when a storm rolls in. Rates were seen in October 2026 and change, so check before you go.

Note that Windance's non-peak summer covers only July and August; June is still a $110 peak month there. The Oaks' summer 2026 rates were not seen, so the June 2027 online rate is the guide. The Bridges' Hot Deals are prepaid. Our Windance course guide and The Preserve course guide have every rate.

Dawn tee times: how to play the heat

  • Book the first time on the sheet. Diamondhead's first tee times are 7:30 AM, and The Bridges opens at 7 AM. Lows near 74-75F mean even dawn is warm, but you finish before the afternoon peak.
  • Ride, do not walk. Most coast courses include a cart in the rate.
  • Plan to be off by early afternoon. Most summer rain comes as afternoon thunderstorms.
  • Expect cart-path-only after rain. The Oaks is one course where reviewers note it is common.
  • Skip the twilight gamble in storm season. A 2 PM twilight time is cheaper, but it lands in the storm window.

Aerification: the summer weeks to avoid

Most coast courses are bermudagrass, and most aerify greens in summer, roughly June to August, sometimes closing or going cart-path-only for a few days. No coast-wide schedule exists. Windance is the course that publishes its dates: closed June 1-4 and August 3-6 in 2026. GolfPass reviewers there also mentioned punched greens in June 2026 and verticut, sanded greens in July 2026. For any other course, call the pro shop and ask before you book a summer trip.

Summer events and hotel prices

Summer is beach and fishing season, so hotel weekends stay busy even while golf is quiet:

  • Memorial Day to Labor Day: busier beach and casino weekends and higher weekend room rates, with the July 4 weekend the peak.
  • Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, early June at Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi: crews and families fill east Biloxi hotels for the week (June 6-9 in 2026).
  • Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, July 4 weekend in Gulfport (July 2-5 in 2026): holiday crowds and traffic around downtown Gulfport.
  • Blessing of the Fleet and Shrimp Festival in east Biloxi: a one-day festival with little hotel effect.

The usual rule still applies: Friday and Saturday nights cost noticeably more at the casino hotels than Sunday to Thursday. See weekday vs weekend Biloxi hotels.

Storms and hurricane season

Hurricane season opens June 1. For the Mississippi coast the main risk window is August to October, and the Atlantic statistical peak is around September 10. A storm can close courses for days to weeks. For August and September trips, read lodging cancellation terms and consider travel insurance. Our guide to hurricane season Biloxi golf covers the risk in detail.

Rainy afternoon plans

When the afternoon storm arrives:

  • Casinos: gaming, spas, shows and restaurants at every resort on the strip.
  • Margaritaville Resort Biloxi: its indoor entertainment center, open to the public, has two multi-game golf simulators, bowling and an arcade.
  • Mississippi Aquarium in downtown Gulfport.
  • Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art on Beach Blvd in Biloxi.
  • The Golf Academy of Diamondhead, the coast's indoor and outdoor academy, for lessons and fitting.

More ideas are in rainy day in Biloxi. In good weather, the Ship Island ferry ran from May 16 to August 9 and again from August 12 in 2026.

A sample summer golf day

Take the first tee time of the day and ride. Be done by late morning, before the heat peaks and the afternoon storms build. Spend the afternoon indoors or on the water: the Ship Island ferry, a shrimping trip on the Sound or the casinos. Book dinner in Biloxi or Ocean Springs and go to bed early, because tomorrow's best tee time is the first one again. On a two-round day, play nine at Windance in the evening only if the sky is clear; nine holes there are $45 in July and August.

Is summer the right season for you?

Summer suits golfers who want lower rates at The Preserve and Windance, open tee sheets at dawn and a beach or fishing trip alongside the golf. It does not suit anyone who wants to play 36 holes a day or walk. If heat is a deal-breaker, look at October or April instead in the best time to golf in Biloxi.
