Courses
- Bay Breeze Golf Course, Biloxi: military, 18 holes, par 71, 6713 yards, rating 71.5 / slope 120, green fees seen $24–$32. Keesler Air Force Base's course on the Back Bay, open to military, DoD and their guests, with a civilian visitor-pass route. Twilight rates run $24-$32 with a cart. For most trip groups the gate process is too much hassle, but it is a bargain if someone has base access.
- Bayou Vista Golf Course, Gulfport: public, 18 holes, par 72, 5727 yards, rating 67.5 / slope 118, green fees seen $28–$28. Gulfport's old Tramark municipal course, renamed Bayou Vista. It is short, simple and $28 with a cart. Play it for a cheap, relaxed round, not for conditioning.
- Fallen Oak, Saucier: guests-only, 18 holes, par 72, 7487 yards, rating 76.5 / slope 142, green fees seen $180–$275. The best course on the Gulf Coast and the one golfers plan the trip around. You can only play it as a Beau Rivage guest, so the hotel choice comes first.
- Grand Bear Golf Club, Saucier: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7204 yards, rating 75.5 / slope 143, green fees seen $65–$170. A full Nicklaus course in the national forest with no houses on it, open to anyone. It pairs with Fallen Oak for a Saucier day but is a strong round on its own.
- Millbrook Golf & Country Club, Picayune: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6531 yards, rating 70.7 / slope 120, green fees seen $17–$65
- Pass Christian Isles Golf Club, Pass Christian: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6396 yards, rating 70.1 / slope 123, green fees seen $36–$52. A 1914 Bendelow course in a quiet Pass Christian neighborhood at $36-$52 with a cart. It is short and old-fashioned, with small greens. Recent reviews say conditioning is hit or miss.
- Shell Landing Golf Club, Gautier: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7023 yards, rating 73.8 / slope 134, green fees seen $55–$99. A Davis Love III course that usually costs well under the casino courses. A good value round on the east side of the coast.
- Sunkist Country Club, Biloxi: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6232 yards, rating 69.9 / slope 125, green fees seen $59–$89. A 1950s semi-private club about 15 minutes from the casinos, at $79-$89 with a cart or $59-$69 after 2 PM. It is short and friendly rather than demanding. Use it as the easy, close-in round of a Biloxi trip.
- The Bridges Golf Club, Bay St. Louis: resort, 18 holes, par 72, 6841 yards, rating 72.9 / slope 144, green fees seen $65–$109. The hardest course on the west coast of Mississippi, an Arnold Palmer marsh layout with more than 21 bridges and a 144 slope from the tips. Rates are $99-$109, and the casino's unlimited-golf hotel package is the better deal if you stay.
- The Club at Diamondhead - Cardinal Course, Diamondhead: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6729 yards, rating 72.4 / slope 131, green fees seen $70–$115. The better of Diamondhead's two property-owner courses, sitting next to the coast's only indoor/outdoor golf academy. Rack rate is $115 all-in, but the online sheet runs about $70-$107. It is a solid, wooded member-style round west of the Bay.
- The Club at Diamondhead - Pine Course, Diamondhead: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6784 yards, rating 72.8 / slope 136, green fees seen $70–$115. Diamondhead's original 1969 course. It rates a bit tougher than the Cardinal on the USGA card and shares the same $115 rack rate, cheaper online prices and academy. Play both in one day for a 36-hole outing.
- The Oaks Golf Club, Pass Christian: public, 18 holes, par 72, 7006 yards, rating 74.6 / slope 140, green fees seen $39–$109. The longest and toughest public course west of Gulfport, at 7,006 yards and slope 140 from the tips. Rates run $89-$109, and late-day times drop to $39-$49. Conditioning reviews are mixed, so check recent ones before a big group trip.
- The Preserve Golf Club, Vancleave: resort, 18 holes, par 72, green fees seen $75–$250. The most polished all-inclusive round on the east side, priced like a resort course. Worth it if you want full service; Shell Landing is the value play nearby.
- Windance Country Club, Gulfport: semi-private, 18 holes, par 72, 6708 yards, rating 72.6 / slope 139, green fees seen $85–$110. The best-conditioned public-access course in Gulfport by most recent reviews. It is a firm, pine-lined McCumber layout at $110 in peak season or $85 after 2 PM. Book on the club's own site up to 14 days out.
