This guide lines up every course open to visitors side by side: holes, par, length, slope, access, the rates we saw in October 2026 and who each one suits. Rates change, so check before you book. Drive times are routed estimates from downtown Biloxi with no traffic.

Saucier and the inland courses

Fallen Oak

Tom Fazio's 2006 course in the pines north of I-10 is the reason many golfers come. It plays 7,487 yards from the tips with a 76.5 rating and 142 slope, and it is regularly ranked the top course in Mississippi. You can only play it as a guest of Beau Rivage: the round is booked through the resort with the room, and the resort runs transport to the course. No public rate card is posted. GolfLink estimated about $275 for 18 with a cart in October 2026, and older stay-and-play packages were quoted from $180 per person, double occupancy. Our guide to getting a Fallen Oak tee time covers the booking steps.

Suits: golfers who will build the trip around one big round and are happy to stay at Beau Rivage.

Grand Bear

Jack Nicklaus built Grand Bear in 1999 about six miles into the De Soto National Forest, with no homes on the course and the Biloxi River on the closing holes. It is public and plays 7,204 yards and 143 slope from the Grizzly Bear tees, with the Teddy Bear tees down at 4,802 yards. It hosted the PGA Tour Champions Rapiscan Systems Classic in 2022. There is no dated rate card; GolfLink estimated about $170 with a cart and other directories quote $65 to $150 depending on day and season, so call the club or check GolfNow and TeeOff.

Suits: strong players who want a big public course in the forest. See the Grand Bear course guide.

East of Biloxi: Vancleave and Gautier

The Preserve

Jerry Pate's 2006 course in Vancleave sits on protected wetlands and pine savanna and is owned by Palace Casino Resort. Anyone can book. Rates include cart, GPS, range balls, bag service and tax, and they are the highest posted on the coast: $250 in spring (February 16 to May 17, 2026), $175 Tuesday-Wednesday and $225 Thursday-Sunday in fall (to November 15), and $175 in summer and winter. After 3 PM it is $150 (2 PM during daylight saving), and a same-day replay is $100.

Suits: groups who want a full-service day and do not mind paying for it.

Shell Landing

Davis Love III's 2000 course in Gautier runs through marsh and pines with water on many holes. It plays 7,023 yards and 134 slope from the Snapping tees. Rates are not posted online. GolfLink estimated about $99 with a cart in October 2026, and a directory listed $55 weekday and $65 weekend, which may be old. Call 228-497-5683.

Suits: value hunters on the east side. See the Shell Landing course guide.

Biloxi and Gulfport

Sunkist Country Club

A 1950s semi-private club about 20 minutes from downtown, Sunkist is the closest full-length course to the casinos that the public can book online. It is short (6,232 yards, 125 slope) and flat, with six rated tees down to 3,867 yards. The 2026 card is $79 Monday to Thursday and $89 Friday to Sunday with a cart, dropping to $59 and $69 from about 2 PM.

Suits: an easy, close-in round, seniors and mixed groups.

Windance Country Club

Mark McCumber's 1986 layout north of I-10 in Gulfport is pine-lined with lakes and plays 6,708 yards and 139 slope from the Blue tees. Island View Casino Resort has owned it since 2007, and it sells public tee times up to 14 days out. The 2026 rate is $110 in peak months (March to June, September to November) and $90 in December to February and July to August, with $85 from 2 PM in late October 2026. Avoid the published aerification closures on June 1-4 and August 3-6. More in the Windance course guide.

Suits: groups who want a well-kept, demanding round near Gulfport.

Bayou Vista

Gulfport's city-owned course was called Tramark until it was renamed Bayou Vista. It is short (5,727 yards, 118 slope) and flat, with bayou-side holes and a new clubhouse with a full bar. One flat rate applies all year: $28 for 18 with a cart, $18 walking and $11 to walk nine (seen October 2026). Reviewers praise the value and staff but say conditioning can be uneven.

Suits: a cheap warm-up or a relaxed second round.

West of Gulfport: Pass Christian, Diamondhead and Bay St. Louis

The Oaks Golf Club

The Oaks, opened in 1998 in Pass Christian, is the longest public course on the west side at 7,006 yards and 140 slope from the Gold tees. The public rate in late October and November 2026 was $99 weekday and $109 weekend, with $59 and $69 from about 2 PM and $39 and $49 from about 4 PM. Winter weekday mornings were $89. It books 365 days ahead on foreUP. Recent reviews on conditioning are mixed, and cart-path-only after rain is common.

Suits: long hitters and groups who want late-day value.

Pass Christian Isles Golf Club

Laid out by Tom Bendelow in 1914, Pass Christian Isles calls itself the oldest course on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is short (6,396 yards, 123 slope) and tight with small greens. Visitors book seven days ahead: $52 Monday to Saturday before about 3:30 PM and $36 after that and all day Sunday (seen October 2026). Recent reviews on conditioning are hit or miss.

Suits: budget rounds and anyone who likes an old-fashioned layout.

The Club at Diamondhead: Cardinal and Pine

Diamondhead's two 18s share a clubhouse and the coast's only indoor/outdoor golf academy. The Cardinal (1978, 6,729 yards, 131 slope) usually gets the better reviews; the Pine (1969, 6,784 yards, 136 slope) rates a little harder. Rack is $115 before 12:30 PM, $95 after and $75 after 2:30 PM, all with cart, tax and range balls. The online public sheet ran cheaper on October 26, 2026, about $70 to $107 all-in. Ask the shop which course is in play on your date.

Suits: a 36-hole day for a group based in Bay St. Louis or Diamondhead.

The Bridges Golf Club

Billed as Mississippi's only Arnold Palmer Signature course, The Bridges at Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast crosses marsh on more than 21 wooden bridges and has the highest slope in the area: 144 from the 6,841-yard Purple tees. The public rate for late October to early November 2026 was $99 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and $109 Friday to Sunday, and $65 or $75 from 2 PM. The hotel's seasonal card lists $89 and $99 from December 1 to February 13 and $119 and $129 from February 14 to May 31. The hotel Golf Package with unlimited golf starts at $119 with the room. It is closed every Tuesday.

Suits: better players and anyone staying in Bay St. Louis.

Further out, and courses you cannot play

  • Millbrook Golf & Country Club in Picayune (1954, 6,531 yards, 120 slope) takes guest play at about $55 weekday and $65 weekend at the top public rate. It is about 87 minutes from downtown Biloxi, so it only makes sense from the west end or New Orleans.
  • Bay Breeze on Keesler Air Force Base is for military, DoD and their guests; see our Keesler Bay Breeze guide.
  • Gulf Hills in Ocean Springs lost its 18 when it closed on October 31, 2019. Reports point to a nine-hole executive course there now, but that is unconfirmed: no official rate card or tee sheet was found, so call before you go.
  • Closed: Great Southern (Gulfport, closed May 2022), Dogwood Hills, St. Andrews in Ocean Springs, and Broadwater's Sun course and Edgewater, both gone since Hurricane Katrina. Our guide to closed golf courses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast has the details.

How to choose among Biloxi golf courses

For a first trip, most groups pick one headline round (Fallen Oak if they stay at Beau Rivage, or Grand Bear or The Bridges if not), one strong mid-price course (Windance, The Oaks, Shell Landing or Diamondhead) and one easy or cheap round (Sunkist, Bayou Vista or Pass Christian Isles). Our best golf courses in Biloxi ranks them for a first visit.

Geography matters when choosing Biloxi golf courses. The coast's courses are spread over about 60 miles from Bay St. Louis toward Pascagoula, plus 20 to 35 minutes inland to Saucier and Vancleave, so a car is close to essential. Group courses by area and stay near the cluster you play most: see where to stay in Biloxi for golf.

Timing changes the price. Spring and fall are peak, and summer and winter are cheaper at the courses that tier their rates. Most courses with posted rates drop the price in the afternoon, while Bayou Vista keeps one flat rate. Our Biloxi golf rates guide lists every seasonal tier, Biloxi tee times covers booking windows course by course, and the best time to golf in Biloxi walks through the year month by month. If you are also weighing Alabama, our Gulf Shores golf courses guide does the same job for the coast to the east.
