Palms Golf Club, Mesquite: The Arizona Course With Two Personalities

Palms Golf Club, a Mesquite course on paper, is actually in Littlefield, Arizona, about 7 minutes from downtown Mesquite. It plays like two courses: a palm-lined resort front nine with wide fairways and water, and a desert canyon back nine with big drops, including the 115-foot fall on #15. It's run by Mesquite Gaming with CasaBlanca, and it had the lowest morning rate of any 18-hole course in town in fall 2026: $134, then $109 from late November.

The front nine and the back nine

Front nine: resort golf

The front side is resort and parkland golf, with wide fairways, water and more than 200 palms. It's the gentle half. The one to watch is #4, the No. 1 handicap: a dogleg right with water on the right that you can't see from the tee. The club suggests laying up and hitting a short wedge in.

Back nine: the canyon

The back nine is the reason to play the Palms. It climbs into the desert canyons with big elevation changes, and it rewards placement over power.

• #11: a downhill par 3 that's all carry over desert.
• #15: the signature hole. The tee sits about 115 feet above the fairway, with a canal right and desert left.

There are 45 greenside bunkers across the 18. One thing to know: a reviewer in August 2025 said the signs between the canyon holes are poor, so first-timers should ask the staff for directions before heading out.

Tees, ratings and slopes

USGA figures, checked October 2026. Mesquite Gaming still quotes 6,860 yards and 73.5/136, and its course text says 6,804 yards.

The 131 slope from the Blue tees is the gentlest back-tee slope of the seven 18-hole courses in and around town. That makes the Palms a good first-day course or a second round on a 36-hole day.

Palms green fees

These are the "Resort Rate" on Mesquite Gaming's official rGuest engine, seen Oct 23, 2026, for dates from Oct 24, 2026 to Feb 23, 2027. The cart shows as included, and taxes, if any, weren't shown. Priced times stopped after Jan 21, 2027, so 2027 peak rates aren't known.

On some fall days the engine also offered a 9-hole early-morning rate of $56.82.

The "MG Pass" rate was $56.82 before about 1 PM, $42.61 twilight and $28.41 for nine, on dates through Oct 30, 2026. It's Mesquite Gaming's pass, but how to get one and what it costs aren't published online.

In winter the online inventory is a 10:00 AM block and, on some days, a 3:06 PM block. Peak season here is January to April. Summer is hot, and reviewers in August 2026 called the course very dry.

Room and golf with CasaBlanca

The Palms has no hotel of its own. Packages go through CasaBlanca Resort, which offers hotel guests 20% off a Room and Golf Package covering CasaBlanca and the Palms (877-438-2929). No package prices are posted. Golf groups playing either course can get a free room and golf for the group leader. The Arizona time zone catch

Mesquite is on Pacific Time. Littlefield is in Arizona, which keeps Mountain Standard Time all year with no daylight saving. So:

The Palms is sold through a Mesquite booking engine, but which clock its winter tee sheet uses wasn't verified. Ask when you book. Phones near the state line can also jump between towers and show Arizona or even Utah time, so set yours to Pacific by hand. Our Mesquite time zone guide explains it in full.

Nevada Open week

The Palms and CasaBlanca host the Nevada Open each early November. The 2026 dates couldn't be confirmed with the tournament, but the online sheet showed no public times from Nov 3 to 7, 2026, or on Dec 20 and Dec 25.

Overseed

This is unclear for 2026. The operator didn't publish dates. A third-party schedule from April 2026 estimated about Sep 8 to Oct 3, marked TBD, while the Arizona Golf Association's 2026 list showed the Palms as not overseeding. In 2025 it closed Sep 11 to Oct 2. If you're coming in September or early October, call the shop. The September overseed guide has the other courses.

Practice and amenities

• Driving range, putting green and a teaching pro.
• Pro shop with rental clubs.
• A reviewer in August 2026 noted there's no liquor license on site, so plan your beer elsewhere.

Where to stay

Virgin River is a Mesquite Gaming property too, with no resort fee and rooms from $46.80 Sun-Thu in December and January (seen October 2026).

Who the Palms suits

Golfers pick the Palms Golf Club over other Mesquite courses for a few reasons:

• Price. At $134 in fall 2026 and $109 from late November, it had the lowest morning rate of the 18-hole courses in town when we checked, with the cart included.
• A gentler canyon experience. You get the drops and desert carries on the back nine, from tees that slope 131 or less for men.
• CasaBlanca packages. If you're staying at CasaBlanca Resort, the Palms is the second course in the 20% room-and-golf deal.

It's less suited to golfers who want a ranked course or a clubhouse beer: it has no published rankings, and a reviewer noted no liquor license. For those, look at Wolf Creek or Conestoga.

Tips for playing the Palms Golf Club in Mesquite

1. Treat the front nine as a warm-up; the back nine is the show.
2. Ask for directions between the canyon holes on your first round.
3. On #4, lay up short of the hidden water.
4. Confirm the clock in winter.
5. For the lowest rates, book from late November, when the morning price drops to $109.
