Base 1: the Casino Drive strip

For most golf groups, this is the answer to where to stay in Laughlin for golf. The casinos are cheap midweek, walkable along the Riverwalk, and six of them sell a Laughlin Ranch stay-and-play package.

  • Riverside Resort sits at the north end by the bridge, the shortest run to Laughlin Ranch at about 11 minutes. It has a 34-lane bowling center and a six-screen cinema; the resort fee was $27 a night in 2026 listings.
  • Aquarius has 1,906 rooms, the most in town, and a golf page naming six area courses with discounts on request.
  • Edgewater offers free parking and free valet, handy with clubs.
  • Harrah's Laughlin at the south end has the strip's only sandy river beach and an adults-only tower, but adds about 5 minutes to Laughlin Ranch.

From the strip, Laughlin Ranch, Riverview and Chaparral are all within about 20 minutes. Mojave Resort and Huukan take 26 to 35 minutes. See the best Laughlin casino for golfers for every casino side by side.

Base 2: the Avi end of Laughlin

The Avi Resort & Casino is about 10 miles south of the strip, beside Mojave Resort Golf Club. The tribe owns both, and the Avi says its guests get reduced rates at the course. It has free parking, a private beach and no resort fee for its main amenities. Only adults 21 and over can book, and there are no pets.

The Avi end is also handy for the south courses. Via the Veterans Memorial Bridge, Huukan is about 14 minutes away, and El Rio in Mohave Valley is also about 14 minutes (7 miles) by road. You give up nightlife on foot: the strip is a 15-20 minute drive. RV travellers can use the Avi Casino KOA, monthly from $786. The Mojave Resort course guide has the layout.

Base 3: Bullhead City

Across the bridge in Arizona, Bullhead City is quieter and on the same clock as most tee sheets.

The clock is the trade-off in reverse: Laughlin casino dinners and Mojave Resort tee times are an hour earlier on your Arizona watch in winter. Our Bullhead City golf guide covers the courses.

Base 4: Fort Mohave and Mohave Valley

The Fort Mohave courses (Los Lagos, Huukan) and El Rio in Mohave Valley are roughly 28 to 39 minutes from the Laughlin bridge. The only lodging near them in our research is Snowbird RV Park, a 144-site family-run park about 5 minutes from Huukan and 17 from Los Lagos, with campsites from $50 a night (AAA, undated). For a room, the Avi is the nearest option. See Fort Mohave golf for the courses.

Base 5: Lake Havasu City

Lake Havasu City is about 94 minutes and 71 miles south of Laughlin. From the London Bridge Resort, Lake Havasu Golf Club is about 8 minutes and Iron Wolf about 14, while Huukan is about 71. It makes sense as its own trip or as two nights on the way to or from Phoenix, not as a base for Laughlin golf. See where to stay in Lake Havasu for golf and Laughlin vs Lake Havasu.

How your arrival airport affects the base

Most visitors fly into Las Vegas (LAS), about 139 minutes and 99 miles from Laughlin by a conservative router estimate, and about 204 minutes from Lake Havasu City. That favours a Laughlin base: you reach the strip in time for an afternoon round. Phoenix (PHX) is about 284 minutes from Laughlin but 230 from Lake Havasu City, so Phoenix flyers lose less time basing in Havasu. The Laughlin/Bullhead airport (IFP), about 10 minutes from the casinos, has casino charter flights only; if a casino charter flies from your home city, the package usually puts you on Casino Drive. See Las Vegas to Laughlin for the drive.

Price and timing notes

Laughlin casino rooms price by day of week more than season. Aggregator data seen in October 2026 put weeknights at about $55 and weekends at about $93, plus resort fees of roughly $18 to $27 a night at most casinos. Friday and Saturday, holiday weekends and event weekends run much higher: the late-April motorcycle rally, the October off-road race based at the Aquarius and New Year's Eve. Bullhead City chain hotels move less by day of week but rise in the January to March winter-visitor season.

The Laughlin Ranch course guide has its rate bands, and Laughlin golf packages explains how the hotel bundles work. For a parallel choice in another casino golf town, see Mesquite golf hotels.
