The key number: Where to stay in Las Vegas for golf: the Strip, Henderson, Summerlin, Lake Las Vegas or Boulder City

Where to stay in Las Vegas for golf comes down to which courses you will play. The Strip suits Shadow Creek, Wynn and Bali Hai; Henderson puts Serket, the Revere and Cascata within 10 to 21 minutes; Summerlin sits beside TPC Las Vegas, Arroyo and Angel Park; Lake Las Vegas means Reflection Bay; Boulder City means Cascata.

This guide compares the five main bases on drive times to the courses most groups book, resort fees and who each one suits. Drive minutes are free-flow estimates from each hotel, with no traffic, so add time at rush hour and on the Strip itself.

Quick facts

  • Shadow Creek needs a Strip MGM hotel: no other base unlocks it.
  • Henderson: Serket 10 minutes and the Revere 12 from Green Valley Ranch; several hotels with no resort fee.
  • Summerlin: TPC Las Vegas 7 minutes from Red Rock Casino Resort or the JW Marriott.
  • Lake Las Vegas: Reflection Bay 2 to 3 minutes, but about 30 minutes to the Strip.
  • Boulder City: Cascata 9 minutes from the Boulder Dam Hotel; a non-gaming town.
  • Event weeks: F1 (November 19-21, 2026), NFR (December 3-12) and CES (January 6-9, 2027) push Strip rates up most.

Shadow Creek is open only to MGM hotel guests, so the times from other bases matter only if you split the stay. The course columns are Shadow Creek, TPC Las Vegas, Serket, Cascata, Reflection Bay and Bali Hai.

Staying on the Strip for golf

The Strip is the base for a buddies trip that wants nights out as much as golf. From the Strip at Flamingo Rd, Bali Hai and Wynn Golf Club are 7 minutes away and Las Vegas National 10. Shadow Creek, TPC Las Vegas and Serket are all 21 to 23 minutes, and Cascata and Reflection Bay 33.

The costs are the extras. Strip resort fees on the November 2026 tracker run from $51.02 at New York-New York to $62.36 at Bellagio, Aria, the Venetian and Wynn, and most MGM, Caesars and Venetian hotels charge $20 per 24 hours to self-park. Wynn and Encore guests park free. Strip room rates swing more with conventions than with the golf season, and Sunday to Thursday is usually the value play.

Pick an MGM hotel for Shadow Creek, Wynn or Encore for Wynn Golf Club, or a south-Strip hotel such as Mandalay Bay, 3 minutes from Bali Hai. Our Las Vegas golf resorts guide covers which hotel unlocks which course.

Staying in Henderson for golf

Henderson is the golf-first base. Green Valley Ranch is 4 minutes from the Legacy, 10 from Serket and 12 from both Revere courses, and the airport is closer than Summerlin. The resort fee there is $51.30.

For no resort fee, the Homewood Suites Henderson South has kitchens in its suites and sits 7 minutes from Serket and 9 from the Revere. Aloft Henderson is near Green Valley Ranch's restaurants without the casino fee. The M Resort ($45.59) is 11 minutes from the Revere and Serket. The trade-off is the Strip: from Green Valley Ranch, Bali Hai is 14 minutes and Wynn Golf Club 20, so dinner on the Strip means a drive. Staying in Summerlin for golf

Summerlin suits a group built around TPC Las Vegas and the west-side courses. Red Rock Casino Resort is 4 minutes from Arroyo at Red Rock, 7 from TPC Las Vegas and 8 from Angel Park, with Red Rock Canyon on the doorstep. Its resort fee is Strip-level at $62.15.

The JW Marriott Las Vegas ($50.85) is 4 minutes from Angel Park, whose lit Cloud Nine short course makes an easy evening session. For no resort fee, the Hampton Inn Red Rock/Summerlin is 7 minutes from Siena and 9 from Arroyo. The catch is distance from the Henderson courses: Serket is 33 minutes from Red Rock and Cascata 45. See Summerlin golf courses.

Staying at Lake Las Vegas

The Hilton Lake Las Vegas and the Westin Lake Las Vegas are both Reflection Bay Stay-N-Play partners, 2 to 3 minutes from the first tee and 8 to 10 from Chimera. Their resort fees, $32.77 and $35, are among the lowest of any resort in our files.

This is a quiet base for couples or a group that wants a pool day between rounds. Everything else is a drive: about 30 minutes to the Strip and 40 or more to Shadow Creek and TPC Las Vegas.

Staying in Boulder City

Boulder City is a small, non-gaming town south-east of Henderson. The Boulder Dam Hotel is 6 minutes from Boulder Creek and Boulder City Golf Course and 9 from Cascata, and it showed no resort fee on the tracker. The Best Western Hoover Dam Hotel is a similar distance, and Railroad Pass on the road in is 6 minutes from Cascata. Lake Mead and Hoover Dam are close for a day off. See Boulder City golf.

The northwest and North Las Vegas

Two smaller bases are worth knowing. Santa Fe Station on US-95 is 5 minutes from Painted Desert and 20 from the Paiute Wolf course, with a $39.55 resort fee. The Aliante Casino + Hotel is 2 minutes from Aliante Golf Club. Both are 17 and 13 minutes from Shadow Creek, but neither is an MGM hotel, so neither unlocks it.

Where to stay in Las Vegas for golf, by type of group

  • Buddies trip with nights out: the Strip, midweek, with a car only on golf days.
  • Golf every day, value first: Henderson, at a no-resort-fee hotel.
  • TPC Las Vegas and Red Rock Canyon: Summerlin.
  • Couples and a slower pace: Lake Las Vegas.
  • Cascata plus a Hoover Dam day: Boulder City.

Splitting the stay works well too: two nights at an MGM hotel for Shadow Creek, then Henderson or Summerlin for the rest. Read our Las Vegas golf trip planning guide and the Las Vegas resort fees breakdown before booking. See the TPC Las Vegas course guide and the Cascata course guide.

Questions golfers ask

Is it better to stay on the Strip or in Henderson for a golf trip?

Stay on the Strip if the group wants the nightlife or Shadow Creek, which needs an MGM hotel. Stay in Henderson if golf comes first: Green Valley Ranch is 10 minutes from Serket and 12 from the Revere, against 23 and 26 from the Strip, and several Henderson hotels charge no resort fee.

Where should I stay in Las Vegas to play TPC Las Vegas?

Summerlin. Red Rock Casino Resort and the JW Marriott Las Vegas are both 7 minutes from TPC Las Vegas, against 22 minutes from the Strip at Flamingo Rd. Red Rock is also 4 minutes from Arroyo, and the JW Marriott is 4 minutes from Angel Park.

Can I stay on the Strip without a rental car for golf?

For some rounds, yes. Bali Hai is 7 minutes from the Strip at Flamingo Rd and Wynn Golf Club 7 minutes, and Shadow Creek includes a limousine from your MGM hotel. For Henderson, Summerlin, Boulder City and the outlying courses, the airport research suggests a rental car.

Is Boulder City a good base for golf?

For the three Boulder City courses, yes. The Boulder Dam Hotel is 6 minutes from Boulder Creek and Boulder City Golf Course and 9 from Cascata, and the hotel record lists no resort fee. The Strip-side courses are 30 to 50 minutes away, so it suits a quieter trip.

Where do golfers stay during the F1 Grand Prix?

The season research notes that golf groups often base in Henderson or Summerlin during race week, which runs November 19-21, 2026. Strip room rates spike that week, and past editions brought road closures around the Strip, Koval Ln, Harmon Ave and Sands Ave for weeks.

Which Las Vegas hotels near golf have no resort fee?

On the November 2026 tracker, no resort fee was reported for the Homewood Suites and Best Western Plus in south Henderson, the Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Henderson, Aloft Henderson, the Hampton Inn Red Rock/Summerlin, the DoubleTree near the airport and the Boulder Dam Hotel. Confirm parking at booking.

How far is Lake Las Vegas from the Strip?
