One flag per course: Sun City Summerlin golf: Highland Falls, Palm Valley, Eagle Crest and Siena, and who can play

Sun City Summerlin golf is open to visitors: the three Golf Summerlin courses, Highland Falls, Palm Valley and Eagle Crest, are run by the community association but take public tee times at a standard daily rate. Nearby Siena, in a separate 55+ community, is public too. Only the cheap $500 annual card is limited to residents.

This guide covers who can play each course, the tees and slopes, the 2026 overseed, how pricing works for visitors and residents, and renting in Sun City Summerlin for a winter.

Quick facts

  • Golf Summerlin courses: Highland Falls (1993), Palm Valley (1989) and Eagle Crest (1995, par 60); all Billy Casper and Greg Nash.
  • Who can play: the public, not only residents; visitors pay the standard daily rate.
  • Resident card: $500 a year, then about $39 a round at Highland Falls and Palm Valley (residents only).
  • Book: golfsummerlin.com tee-time request page.
  • 2026 overseed: all three closed September 8, reopened September 29.
  • Siena: separate daily-fee course in Summerlin South; no traditional September overseed.
  • Winter rentals: about $1,700 to $2,300 a month furnished in listings seen.

The Review-Journal and Golf Summerlin's director of golf, quoted by Colorado AvidGolfer, both confirm the three Golf Summerlin courses are open to the public. Visitor green fees are not published online; call or use the booking request page.

The resident card figure comes from golfsummerlin.com via a search listing, and it applies only to Sun City Summerlin residents. Whether a winter renter in the community counts as a resident for the card is not stated in our files; ask Golf Summerlin before you budget on it.

Highland Falls

Highland Falls is the hilliest of the three, a desert course at the foot of the Spring Mountains. It has its own driving range and practice green, and the course page lists a $20 rider fee. Phone (702) 254-7010.

Palm Valley

Palm Valley is the oldest (1989), and the flatter, longer of the two full-length Sun City Summerlin courses. Our files rate it gentle and well kept, good for snowbirds and higher handicaps. Phone (702) 363-4373.

Eagle Crest

Eagle Crest is a par-60 executive course from 1995: Blue 4,067 yards (60.5/97 men, 62.9/102 women), White 3,668 (58.7/95; 60.2/96) and Red 3,259 (55.5/86 both). Our files describe it as fine for a relaxed quick round.

Siena

Siena Golf Club is the fourth course on this side, but it is not a Sun City Summerlin course. It sits in the separate Siena 55+ community in Summerlin South, takes public tee times through GolfNow and the club, and was sold in October 2024 for $17 million to Siena Golf Holdings LLC.

  • Course: Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt, 2000; par 72; back tees 6,816 yards at 71.5/129.
  • Prices seen: $225.99 on GolfNow for September 25, 2026; $189 peak (where2golf, dynamic); $135 (Green Fee Tracker 2026).
  • Overseed: no traditional September overseed; 2026 aerification August 24-25.

That last point makes Siena useful in September, when the Golf Summerlin courses are shut. See the Siena course guide.

Overseed: plan around September

Golf Summerlin closes all three at once, so September 8 to 28 has no Sun City Summerlin golf at all. More in Las Vegas golf overseed.

Winter golf in Summerlin

Winter is when most snowbirds play Sun City Summerlin golf, and it is cooler here than at the airport. The weather files note that Summerlin courses sit higher than the valley floor and can run a few degrees colder, not quantified. At the airport, December averages about 57F highs and 40F lows with about five freezing nights, and January about 59F and 41F, so frost delays often push back the first tee times. Book mid-morning in December and January, and expect short days: sunset is about 4:27 p.m. in mid-December. By March, highs average about 71F and the spring peak begins. See Las Vegas golf in winter.

Mesquite, about 80 miles up I-15, has its own Sun City community, where Conestoga Golf Club is the course; see Sun City Mesquite golf.
