Shadow Creek golf: who can play, what it costs in 2026 and how to book

Shadow Creek golf is only for guests of MGM Resorts Las Vegas hotels. Who can play Shadow Creek golf

Shadow Creek is not open to the public. To play, you need a paid stay at an MGM Resorts Las Vegas hotel for the dates of your round. Once you hold the reservation, you ask the hotel's golf concierge or your casino host for a tee time.

Several 2026 guides say paying hotel guests are mostly accommodated Monday to Thursday, with weekends largely held for invited guests. MGM has not confirmed that. If Shadow Creek is the reason for the trip, plan the round midweek and keep the rest of the schedule flexible until the tee time is confirmed.

Which MGM hotels qualify

Resort fees from ResortFeeChecker, with tax. Drive times are free-flow; you ride in the included limousine anyway. The Four Seasons Las Vegas sits inside the Mandalay Bay complex but is not an MGM brand, and no source says its guests qualify.

What Shadow Creek golf costs

Room rates were not captured, and Strip prices swing hard with conventions and events: CES (January 6-9, 2027), the Grand Prix (November 19-21, 2026) and the National Finals Rodeo (December 3-12, 2026) all push them up. How to book Shadow Creek

1. Pick dates, ideally with a Monday-to-Thursday golf day.
2. Book a room at a qualifying MGM Resorts hotel, ideally one named in 2026 coverage.
3. Contact the hotel's golf concierge or your casino host and request a Shadow Creek time.
4. Confirm the price, whether the caddie fee is included and the limousine pickup time.
5. Plan the rest of the day around a fixed tee time and pickup.

No booking window is published. Ask early, especially for spring and fall, the peak golf seasons.

What the course is like

Tom Fazio built Shadow Creek with Steve Wynn in 1989 on flat desert in North Las Vegas, then shaped and planted it so that you see pines, streams, lakes and waterfalls, and no houses or desert, from play. The fairways are bermuda overseeded with rye. GolfNewsNet reported in April 2026 that it hosts the LPGA's Aramco Championship that year. Is Shadow Creek worth $1,250?

It depends on what the trip is for. Shadow Creek is the most famous guest-only round in Las Vegas and a once-in-a-lifetime splurge, not a value pick. For the same budget, a group could play several of the valley's best public courses. If you want one big round without the MGM requirement:

When to book Shadow Creek golf

Las Vegas golf peaks in spring (March to May) and fall (October to mid-November). December to February is cooler, with frost delays common on the earliest times; June to September is very hot, with highs of 99F to 105F at the airport from June to August, so a summer Shadow Creek round should go out at first light. Shadow Creek's fairways are bermuda overseeded with rye, but its fall overseed dates were not published in our research.

Hotel prices matter more than golf prices here, because the room is the ticket. Strip room rates are among the highest of the year during CES (January 6-9, 2027), the Grand Prix (November 19-21, 2026) and the National Finals Rodeo (December 3-12, 2026), and Friday and Saturday nights are routinely the most expensive of the week.
