Who can play Camp Creek Golf Club
The Watersound Club lists three groups:
- Lifestyle Members. Golf is in the Lifestyle tier, not the Beach & Sport tier, and dues include green and cart fees. Membership office 850-213-5181.
- Members' accompanied guests. Rental guests of members may not use the club, per the club FAQ.
- Overnight guests of Camp Creek Inn and Watersound Inn. Both St. Joe hotels sell rounds on Camp Creek, Shark's Tooth and The Third at $295 per golfer.
WaterColor Inn guests have historically had access to Camp Creek and Shark's Tooth, but no current page confirming 2026 terms was found. The Pearl Hotel now advertises only Origins for its guests. If golf is the point of the trip, book one of the two inns that clearly include it.
How inn guests book a tee time
- Book the room at Camp Creek Inn or Watersound Inn. Room rates were not captured in our research; check rates.
- Ask for tee times straight away. Camp Creek Inn's concierge books them once the hotel reservation exists; at Watersound Inn it goes through the front desk.
- Pay $295 per golfer per round, covering green fee and cart.
- Mind the calendar. The booking window is not published, and the inns advise booking ahead, especially in peak season and around tournaments.
Watersound Inn's Watersound Golf Getaway package bundles two rounds on your choice of Camp Creek, Shark's Tooth or The Third; its price was not shown. Camp Creek Inn lists Ship Sticks and group golf packages.
The course
Camp Creek runs through dunes and pines near the Gulf, with rolling fairways, sandy waste areas and water on about 11 holes. Greens are TifEagle bermuda and fairways Tifway 419 bermuda. From the Black tees the 144 slope is higher than Shark's Tooth (130), and The Third has no published rating yet; the Gold tees at 5,796 yards are the sensible set for higher handicaps.
There is a practice range and putting green, plus a Golf Performance Center at the club, with pro shop, instruction and bag storage. No overseed policy is published. Our take: the best of the St. Joe trio for most visitors.
Camp Creek Inn: the golf inn
Camp Creek Inn opened in 2023 with 75 rooms, including golf-view and driving-range-view rooms, a Junior Golf Suite and a Pine Suite. It adjoins the course, 1 minute from the first tee. St. Joe reports a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating.
- Dining: 1936, ANR and Bark 'N Brine on site, plus in-room dining. Some restaurants are adults-only after 3 p.m.
- Beach: inland; a free shuttle runs to the Watersound Beach Club.
- Parking: complimentary valet; one standard vehicle per room; no RVs or trailers.
- Pets: none; service dogs only.
- Resort fee: none listed on the FAQ.
Watersound Inn is the alternative: 11 suites with full kitchens beside the beach club, 15 minutes from Camp Creek by car, with no shuttle and a minimum booking age over 25. It takes up to two pets under 50 lb in designated rooms, at $100 per pet.
Closures and events to plan around
- Every Monday: Camp Creek rests. Shark's Tooth rests on Tuesday and The Third on Wednesday.
- November 2-5, 2026: Camp Creek maintenance closure.
- November 12-14, 2026: Campfest member-guest.
- Mid-October: Sharkfest member-guest at Shark's Tooth.
A simple three-round stay at Camp Creek Inn: Camp Creek on Tuesday, The Third on Thursday and Shark's Tooth on Friday, avoiding each course's rest day. Check maintenance dates first, and check that Shark's Tooth has reopened after the storm.
After Hurricane Isaias
Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin on October 9, 2026 as a Category 2. St. Joe closed all Watersound Club courses for cleanup and reopened them in stages, The Third and Origins first. Debris was cleared from greens and fairways, and the club's weather page said Camp Creek would reopen on October 17, 2026 as nine holes, the front nine, while tree removal continued. Shark's Tooth was listed as closed until further notice in late October 2026. Check the full 18 before booking. More in our Destin hurricane season guide.

Is Camp Creek Golf Club worth $295?
At $295 a round on top of a luxury room, Camp Creek Golf Club is one of the most expensive rounds on the Emerald Coast. For comparison, Burnt Pine at Sandestin, also limited to members and resort guests, was $179 in season and $149 in winter for 2026, and the Raven, Sandestin's best public course, was $159 public. What the extra buys is a quiet private Fazio course next to your room, with no outside public tee times. It suits a couple or a small group making golf the point of an east-30A stay. It makes less sense from a Destin base, 48 minutes away.
If you cannot stay at the inns
- Origins Golf Club, 9 minutes from Camp Creek Inn: the public Davis Love III short course, six or ten holes. See the Origins course guide.
- Windswept Dunes, Freeport: a long public dunes course with October 2026 deals of $105 to $129 with cart. See the Windswept Dunes course guide.
- Shark's Tooth and The Third: same access and price as Camp Creek, though Shark's Tooth was closed until further notice in late October 2026.
Our Watersound Club golf guide compares all four St. Joe courses, and 30A golf covers every option along the coast road. For the Sandestin equivalent of stay-to-play, see the Burnt Pine golf club guide. Destin golf resorts compares the bases.
