Burnt Pine Golf Club at Sandestin is not open to the public. Only club members and registered guests of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort can play, and resort guests tee off after 1 PM. The Hilton Sandestin says its guests qualify too. Book by phone on 850-267-6500 once you hold a reservation; 2026 rates were $179 in season and $149 in winter.

It is the best course at Sandestin on our research, a 1994 Rees Jones design along Choctawhatchee Bay, so it is worth knowing exactly how to get on. Rates come from sandestin.com as read on October 26, 2026, and change.

How to book a Burnt Pine tee time

  1. Book the room in Sandestin resort lodging (or at the Hilton, after confirming access).
  2. Call the Burnt Pine pro shop on 850-267-6500. Sandestin's site shows "Call for a Tee Time"; there is no online booking.
  3. Ask for the first slot after 1 PM, especially from November, when a 1 PM start needs a steady pace to finish before dark.

The other route is the Premium stay-and-play package: four or more nights, one round on each of the four Sandestin courses, up to 30% off, booked up to 13 months ahead through a reservation agent before arrival. It is the simplest way to lock Burnt Pine into a trip. See our Sandestin golf packages guide.

What the course is like

Burnt Pine is a private-club-style Rees Jones course with plenty of water and forced carries, and its back nine runs along Choctawhatchee Bay. Sandestin quotes GOLF Magazine calling it the crown jewel of Florida golf. On published slope it ties Regatta Bay as the hardest course on the Emerald Coast.

The greens are listed as TifDwarf bermuda by GolfPass, which may be dated. The Burnt Pine Clubhouse has dining. A Sandestin storm-centre page seen in search results listed Burnt Pine open (7 AM-6 PM) after Hurricane Isaias in October 2026; no course damage was reported.

Is Burnt Pine worth planning a stay around?

If you want one top-tier round on a Destin trip, yes. At $179, it costs $20 more than a public round at the Raven ($159; see Destin golf rates) and less than the $295 the St. Joe inns charge for Camp Creek on 30A.

The costs to weigh are the stay and the timing. Sandestin's resort fee is reported at $40 plus tax a night by a third-party site, and check-out is 10 AM. The 1 PM rule means Burnt Pine takes your afternoon, so pair it with a morning round elsewhere only in spring and summer, when daylight allows. Our Sandestin golf guide compares all four courses.
