Course stamp: Canadian golfers in Biloxi: how to get there and what to expect

Canadian golfers can't fly nonstop to Biloxi. The two routes are one connection to Gulfport-Biloxi (GPT) through Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas or Houston, or Air Canada's Toronto to New Orleans nonstop followed by a two-hour drive east on I-10. Toronto flyers save a connection via New Orleans. Everyone else connects either way, so GPT, 25 to 30 minutes from the casinos, is simpler.

This guide covers flights, winter golf weather and prices, and long-stay deals for snowbirds. Routes were read in October 2026 and prices were seen the same month; both change.

Quick facts

  • Nonstops from Canada to GPT: none.
  • Only Canada nonstop nearby: Air Canada, Toronto to New Orleans (MSY), as of October 2026.
  • MSY to Biloxi: about 1 hour 59 minutes, 101 miles, on I-10 east.
  • GPT to Biloxi: about 27 minutes.
  • Time zone: Central, the same as New Orleans.
  • January weather: about 60F highs, 44F lows on the beach.
  • Car: close to essential.

Gulfport-Biloxi's busiest route is Atlanta, with about 127,000 passengers from May 2025 to April 2026. Mobile Regional (MOB) is served by the same US hubs and sits 81 minutes from Biloxi, so it rarely helps. Read the full airport guides: Gulfport Biloxi airport flights and New Orleans to Biloxi.

Toronto: the New Orleans nonstop

Air Canada's Toronto to New Orleans flight was the only Canada nonstop found at New Orleans, Gulfport or Mobile as of October 2026. From MSY, the drive east on I-10 runs past the west-end courses first: The Bridges in Bay St. Louis, the two Diamondhead courses and The Oaks in Pass Christian. A morning landing leaves time for an afternoon round on the way. Add time if you hit New Orleans rush hour.

Western Canada and Montreal

With no nonstop to New Orleans, you connect anyway. Connect to GPT and you land 10 minutes from downtown Gulfport and 27 from the Biloxi casinos, with rental counters for Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National in the terminal.

Winter golf weather for Canadians

Most Canadian golfers come in winter, and the coast stays mild. NOAA 1991-2020 normals:

Month Beach high / low Inland (Saucier) high / low Rain days (beach)
December62.2F / 45.9F63.6F / 42.2F9.2
January59.8F / 43.6F61.4F / 40.6F9.5
February63.2F / 47.3F65.6F / 43.6F8.9
March69.3F / 53.4F71.5F / 49.3F8.0

The research calls December to February the winter value season: the cheapest time for golf and casino hotels outside holiday weeks and Mardi Gras weekends. Most courses are bermudagrass, and where it is not overseeded it goes dormant and tan from about December to March but stays playable. The inland Saucier courses, home of Fallen Oak and Grand Bear, run about 3F colder at night and can have frost delays. Our guides to winter golf in Mississippi and Biloxi weather by month go deeper.

Snowbird and long-stay golf deals

If you are staying for weeks rather than days, these are the published long-stay options:

  • Bayou Vista: unlimited golf memberships at $55 a month single, $85 a month couple or $600 a year, plus a $10 cart fee. See our Bayou Vista course guide.
  • Windance: monthly associate memberships from $105 to $225 a month by age bracket.
  • Sunkist: a Snowbird booking class on its foreUP tee sheet (terms not read), and a 2026 Loyalty Card that cuts green fees by $30 and includes a free round and a free replay. See our Sunkist course guide.
  • The Oaks: the Oaks Card (2027 card on sale) cuts green fees 30 to 50 percent and includes a free first round worth up to $99.
  • Diamondhead Cardinal: a 2026 Snowbirds offer is posted on the club site as an image, terms not read. Call the shop.

Prices for the Sunkist card and the Oaks Card were not in our research, so ask the clubs.

Fallen Oak for Canadian visitors

Fallen Oak, the Tom Fazio course in Saucier, is open only to guests of Beau Rivage. You book the room and the round together through the hotel, which provides transport to the course. There is no other way on. Beau Rivage also runs an airline charter program, MGMAir, listed by the Gulfport airport; ask the hotel whether it fits. Our Fallen Oak tee time guide explains the booking.

A sample winter week from Canada

  1. Sunday: fly to GPT through a US hub, or land at MSY from Toronto and drive east. Sunday is a cheap night to check in.
  2. Monday: Windance or The Oaks, both about 20 minutes from the airport area.
  3. Tuesday: Bayou Vista in the morning for $28, then an afternoon off for the casinos or the Mississippi Aquarium in downtown Gulfport.
  4. Wednesday: Fallen Oak, if you booked a Beau Rivage stay with golf.
  5. Thursday: The Preserve at its winter rate of $175, or Sunkist close to the casinos.
  6. Friday: fly home before the weekend room rates start.

Winter days are short, so book morning or midday tee times rather than late twilight, and allow for frost delays on inland mornings.

Practical notes

  • Rental car: the courses spread about 60 miles from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula and 20 to 35 minutes inland. Rideshare may not be able to enter military bases.
  • Midweek is cheaper: casino hotels charge noticeably more on Friday and Saturday nights. Arriving Sunday and leaving Thursday is the usual value pattern.
  • Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so a late-November trip is still in it. Winter trips are outside it.
  • Where to base: our where to stay in Biloxi for golf guide compares the casino strip, the Gulfport beach, Ocean Springs and Diamondhead.

Comparing winter bases? The Gulf Shores guide to snowbird golf in Gulf Shores covers the Alabama coast, which flies into Pensacola.

Questions golfers ask

Are there direct flights from Canada to Biloxi?

No. There are no nonstop flights from Canada to Gulfport-Biloxi (GPT). The only Canada nonstop found at GPT, New Orleans or Mobile as of October 2026 was Air Canada's Toronto to New Orleans (MSY) flight.

What is the best way to fly from Toronto to Biloxi?

Toronto flyers can take Air Canada's nonstop to New Orleans and drive about two hours east on I-10, saving a connection. The alternative is one stop to Gulfport via Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas or Houston, landing 25 to 30 minutes from the casinos.

How should golfers from western Canada or Montreal fly to Biloxi?

They need a connection either way, so flying to Gulfport-Biloxi through a US hub (Delta via Atlanta, American via Charlotte or Dallas, United via Houston) avoids the two-hour drive from New Orleans.

Is Biloxi warm enough for golf in winter?

Usually. NOAA normals put January beach highs near 60F and lows near 44F, and February near 63F and 47F. Bermudagrass that is not overseeded goes dormant and tan but stays playable, and inland courses can have frost delays.

Do Biloxi golf courses have snowbird rates?

Some do. Sunkist has a Snowbird booking class on its tee sheet and Diamondhead posted a 2026 Snowbirds offer, but the terms of both were not published in text. Bayou Vista sells unlimited golf from $55 a month, and Windance sells monthly associate memberships from $105 to $225 by age (seen October 2026).

What time zone is Biloxi in?

Central Time. Biloxi, Gulfport, New Orleans, Mobile and Pensacola are all on Central Time, so there is no clock change between the airports and the coast.

Do I need a car for golf in Biloxi?

Yes. The courses spread about 60 miles along the coast and 20 to 35 minutes inland. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National have counters at the Gulfport airport.
