Is Temeku Hills the same as the Legends golf club?
Yes. Temeku Hills Golf & Country Club was a private club inside the Temeku Hills community. Under new ownership, about 2011, it was renamed the Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills and opened to public play. The record we hold calls it "Temeku Hills under its current name, open and priced well under Pechanga."
That distinction matters when you search. Some older listings and reviews still use Temeku Hills, and a few treat it as a private club. It is not: tee times are sold to the public online. The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills is on our map with its drive time and nearby hotels, and there is a full Legends course guide with the tee data.
What the course is like
Ted Robinson Sr. designed the course, which opened in 1995. It is a par 72 with four par 5s and four par 3s. The par 5s run from 474 to 584 yards, with the 13th the longest at 584, and the par 3s from 176 to 201 yards. The second hole is the number 1 handicap hole, at 408 yards.
Tee data is thin. The Gold tees measure 6,547 yards, but no men's rating or slope has been published for them in the sources we read. The Red tees are 5,093 yards with a women's rating and slope of 70.4/126. Because of that gap, treat this as a mid-length resort-style round, not a championship test.
Google reviewers give it 3.8 stars from 452 reviews. Our take: this is the cheap, close-in option, not the showpiece.
Legends rates
The only dated rates we have are prepaid GolfNow tee times with a cart, read on November 6, 2026 for September and October dates:
| Time seen | Rate with cart |
|---|---|
| Low end of prepaid range | $48.99 |
| Weekday mornings, October | about $58.99 to $59.99 |
| Some Sundays | $68.99 to $73.99 |
| High end of prepaid range | $73.99 |
No rack-rate sheet was found, and the club's own pricing page was not read, so a walk-up or phone price may differ. Prepaid rates also change daily with demand. Call 951-694-9998 or open the GolfNow listing before you commit. Note that prepaid parties under four are paired with other prepaid golfers, which matters if you want to keep a buddies group together.
How the Legends compares with other Temecula courses
| Course | Access | Rate seen (with cart) | Drive from Old Town |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Legends | Public | $48.99 to $73.99 prepaid | 8 min |
| Redhawk | Public | prepaid $26 to $88; one $80 slot | 10 min |
| Journey at Pechanga | Resort, public | $175 hotel guest, $215 public | 10 min |
| Temecula Creek Inn | Resort, public | $35 to $95 (undated listing) | 5 min |
| The Golf Club at Rancho California | Public | prepaid $41.99 to $81.99 | 11 min |
The comparison is not exact: some figures are prepaid deals, one is a posted resort rate and one is an undated listing. Still, the pattern holds. The Legends sits at the low end of what a full-length Temecula 18 costs, and it is closer to Old Town than Redhawk or Journey. Our Temecula golf rates guide puts all the courses side by side.
Where the Legends fits in a Temecula golf trip
Because it is 8 minutes from Old Town, the Legends works as the easy round on a day you also want wine-country time. It is an inexpensive way to fill a second or third day after Journey or Redhawk, and the cheap golf in Temecula guide uses it as an anchor.
Hotels are close. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Temecula Valley Wine Country is about 7 minutes from the course, and the Inn at Europa Village and the Hampton Inn & Suites Temecula are about 8. South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and Ponte Vineyard Inn are about 10. For a base, read where to stay in Temecula for golf.
If your group pairs golf with winery visits, the Legends is a convenient morning round: it keeps you near the wine roads without a long drive. Whoever is tasting after golf should arrange a driver, a tour or a ride service; our Temecula golf and wine guide covers the practical side.

Questions golfers ask
Is Temeku Hills the same course as the Legends Golf Club?
Yes. Temeku Hills Golf & Country Club was renamed the Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills under new ownership about 2011. The course is open and taking tee times, so the old name does not mean a closure.
Is Temeku Hills still private?
No. It was a private club before the rename. It is now a public daily-fee course, and tee times are sold through GolfNow facility 1244. You do not need a membership or a hotel stay to book.
How much does the Legends cost?
On November 6, 2026 the prepaid GolfNow rates with cart ran from $48.99 to $73.99. Weekday mornings in October were about $58.99 to $59.99, and some Sundays were $68.99 to $73.99. Rack rates were not published on the pages we read, and rates change by date and demand.
Who designed the Legends and when did it open?
Ted Robinson Sr. designed it, and it opened in 1995. It is a par 72 of 18 holes. Robinson also designed the Menifee Lakes courses and did the 1990 work at Temecula Creek Inn.
How far is the Legends from Old Town Temecula?
About 8 minutes and 3.3 miles from Front Street at Main Street, an estimate, not a live route. It is the closest full 18 to Old Town after Temecula Creek Inn.
Do I play alone or with strangers on a prepaid rate?
Prepaid GolfNow rates pair parties of fewer than four with other prepaid golfers. If you want your own group, book four players or call the club at 951-694-9998 to ask about options.
Is the Legends open all year?
The record says it is open year-round, and prepaid tee times were listed for September and October 2026. Winter mornings can be cool and occasionally foggy or frosty, so check the first tee times before you book.
