Echo Hills is run by the recreation district and was read on November 6, 2026. The rest come from GreenFeeTracker, GolfNow listings and similar sites on the dates noted. Where rack rates are unknown, we say so.
Which are the best-value 18-hole rounds?
California Oaks is the cheapest full round, and the price tells you the level. It is a short par-70 of 5,199 yards, with a championship tee rating of 66.3/121, and reviewers flag poor fairways and bare areas. Twilight is about 2 to 3 hours before sunset at $33. Junior is $10, and on weekdays one junior plays free per paying adult. A cart is included in the listed rate, with a separate $20 rider fee noted. Eighteen-hole play ends at 4:15pm, and after 4:30pm it is 9 holes only. See the California Oaks course guide.
Hemet Golf Club is an honest $50 to $60 public round with the cart included, for a Hemet or Menifee day when Soboba is too dear. Sources conflict, though: one listing shows $70 weekday and $80 weekend regular rates with a $45 twilight. Nine holes were $35 weekday and $40 weekend. See the Hemet Golf Club course guide.
The Legends is the cheap, close-in option to Old Town, 8 minutes away. Prepaid weekday mornings in October ran about $58.99 to $59.99, and some Sundays $68.99 to $73.99. Parties under four are paired with other prepaid golfers. See the Legends course guide and the Legends at Temeku Hills guide.
The Golf Club at Rancho California is the best traditional layout in Murrieta, a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design, with Hot Deals of $41.99 to $81.99 for August to October dates. For example, a $42.99 slot on October 6 at 12:55pm and an $81.99 slot on October 3. Prices swing by date and time of day. See the Rancho California course guide.
What about Hot Deals and prepaid rates?
Prepaid rates are the biggest swing factor, and the terms differ by course.
| Course | Prepaid range seen | Terms |
|---|---|---|
| Legends | $48.99 to $73.99 with cart | parties under four paired with other prepaid golfers |
| Redhawk | $26 to $88 (Sep-Oct 2026) | non-refundable |
| Rancho California | $41.99 to $81.99 with cart | refundable only with 24+ hours' notice |
| California Oaks | walking $11.99 to $23.99 (Aug-Oct 2026) | GolfNow walking Hot Deals |
Redhawk's rack rate sheet was not found; a $80 4:30pm slot with cart on August 8 shows how much the same course can swing. The cheap slots are a gamble on weather: a prepaid, non-refundable slot on a rainy day is money lost.
How much does a twilight round cost?
Only a few courses publish twilight rates:
| Course | Twilight | Starts |
|---|---|---|
| Echo Hills | $10 | 1:00pm |
| California Oaks | $33 | about 2 to 3 hours before sunset |
| Hemet Golf Club | $42 weekday, $49 weekend | after 1pm (weekday) |
In winter, sunset is as early as 4:42pm in December, so twilight rounds there are short. In summer twilight is the best time to play, since inland afternoons are hot. See Temecula summer golf.
Which courses are cheaper with a hotel or a pass?
Journey at Pechanga is the opposite of cheap, but the hotel-guest rate of $175 against $215 is the biggest discount we found. See Pechanga resort golf. Soboba Springs lists a senior (55+) rate of $70 against $100 weekday and $125 weekend, the best value there. Tribal, junior, military and 9-hole rates at Soboba are by phone.
For other discounts, ask each pro shop. No resident or local rate is published at most courses.
How do you keep the whole trip cheap?
- Play Monday to Thursday. Weekday-weekend gaps are $13 at California Oaks, $10 at Hemet and $25 at Soboba.
- Book prepaid slots only on dry-forecast days.
- Stay in a value hotel. See cheap hotels in Temecula for golf.
- Rent clubs for a 2 to 3 round trip. Airlines' golf-bag fees often make renting cheaper, though rental rates were not read.
- Build a rotation. See our snowbird golf schedule for Temecula.
For every fee side by side, read Temecula golf rates. For the whole trip cost, see Temecula golf trip cost, and for the desert comparison, cheap golf in Palm Springs.
What does a cheap golf Temecula week cost?
A three-round week of cheap golf Temecula golfers can book, using the weekday prices we saw, looks like this:
| Round | Price |
|---|---|
| California Oaks, weekday | $40 |
| Hemet Golf Club, weekday | $49 |
| The Legends, weekday morning, prepaid | about $59 |
| Total | about $148 |
That is under $150 for three 18-hole rounds with carts included, which is a long way below one public round at Journey at Pechanga. It leaves room to add a nine at Echo Hills for $15 plus a $5 cart, if you want a short extra loop.
The honest caveat is quality. The cheapest courses are not the best ones, and California Oaks reviewers flag poor fairways and bare areas. If you want one good round in a cheap week, the Golf Club at Rancho California is the best traditional layout in Murrieta, and prepaid slots at Redhawk can come in under $50 on some dates. See our best golf courses in Temecula guide for the trade-offs.
Rates move with the season and day. Prices here were seen in November 2026 or as dated, and some are from April or August to October 2026, so check before you book.
