McCormick Ranch Golf Club is a public 36-hole club in central Scottsdale, 9 minutes from Old Town, with two courses, the Palm and the Pine, partway through a nine-by-nine regrassing project. Anyone can book through TeeItUp. As of November 2026, fees, tees and overseed dates were not published, and the club says back-nine work may bring temporary rerouting.
This guide covers what is confirmed at McCormick Ranch Golf Club, where the renovation stands, the resort next door, and how it compares with nearby courses that publish more.

McCormick Ranch Golf Club renovation, nine by nine
| Nine | Work | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Palm front | rebuilt | done 2024 |
| Pine front | rebuilt | done 2025 |
| Pine back | resurfacing and bunker restoration | in progress at the July 30, 2026 update; no completion date |
| Palm back | to follow | in coming years |
Regrassed nines are hybrid bermuda on greens and fairways. The club's project page says later phases may use temporary rerouting, and it does not say which holes are closed at any given time. So the course you play could differ from the card. Ask when you book which nines are open and whether the round is rerouted.
The upside: both front nines have been rebuilt since 2024, so half the club is on new surfaces.
The Palm and Pine courses
The Palm and the Pine share a clubhouse, phone and booking page. Tees, ratings, slopes and designers were not captured in the sources read, so we do not compare them on difficulty.
What the research does support: this is a central, mid-priced 36-hole public club, easy from Old Town and handy for a second round on a day you do not want to drive north. See the Palm course guide and the Pine course guide.

Valley-wide, January to April is peak golf with the highest fees and tightest tee sheets. WM Phoenix Open week (February 8-14, 2027) and spring training from February 19, 2027 are the peak of the peak. October to December and May are shoulder, and June to September is very hot and very cheap with dawn tee times. Nearly every course overseeds and closes or plays restricted for a few weeks between mid-September and early November. See Scottsdale golf rates and the Phoenix golf overseed guide.
Staying next door
The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, was called the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, so older listings use that name.
- Golf: beside the Pine (under a minute) and 2 minutes from the Palm. Listings say the resort offers access to both courses; no guest rate is published.
- Resort fee: $51.29 per room per night (ResortFeeChecker, October 2026).
- Renovated: after its 2022 purchase by Driftwood Capital.
- Loyalty: Hilton Honors.
- Room rates: not captured.
Two more stays are 4 minutes from the courses: Kimpton Miralina (260 rooms, six pools, casitas and villas; resort fee $50.93) and Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch. See where to stay in Scottsdale for golf.

See the Talking Stick Golf Club guide, the O'odham course guide and the Papago golf course guide.
Private and unconfirmed courses close by
- Gainey Ranch: private member club, 5 minutes from The Scottsdale Resort; play as a member's guest.
- Scottsdale Silverado: 5 minutes away, but its status is still to be confirmed; call first.
- Camelback Golf Club: the Camelback Inn's 36, 7 to 8 minutes away; details not published. See Camelback Golf Club.
Fitting McCormick Ranch into a trip
McCormick Ranch's biggest asset is position. At 9 minutes from Old Town, it is as close as Papago and closer than Talking Stick (15 minutes) or TPC Scottsdale (21 minutes). That makes it useful in three ways:
- Arrival or departure day: Sky Harbor is about 18 minutes from Old Town, so a McCormick Ranch round fits around a flight better than a 40-minute drive to Carefree.
- The second round of a 36-hole day: play a north Scottsdale course in the morning and come back toward town for the afternoon.
- A no-drive round: for a group staying at The Scottsdale Resort, the Pine is 0.1 miles away.
On a snowbird winter, it can be a regular central round once you know the renovation schedule. Snowbird season runs roughly November to April and peaks January to March, when morning tee times are hardest to find everywhere, so book ahead. A full weekly rotation is in the snowbird golf schedule for Phoenix.
Timing a round at McCormick Ranch
Arizona keeps Mountain Standard Time all year. In January the sun rises about 7:32 AM and sets about 5:43 PM, and in March 6:38 AM and 6:36 PM, so midwinter afternoon starts run short of light. Sky Harbor's normal highs are 76.5F in November, 67.6F in January and 78.1F in March, with January lows of 46.0F, so early tee times start cool. Overseed season, mid-September to early November, is the one stretch to confirm before booking any Valley course.
What we do not know yet
So you can ask the right questions when you call 480-948-0260:

- which holes, if any, are rerouted or closed on your date;
- the public booking window on TeeItUp.
Who McCormick Ranch suits

- Snowbirds in central Scottsdale: a close public club for a weekly round once the renovation settles.
- Guests at The Scottsdale Resort: the courses are next door.
- Not for: anyone who needs a guaranteed 18 on the original routing during the renovation; confirm first.
