How to book Glen Dornoch golf
There are three ways in:
- The club's online booking, run through TeeItUp from glendornoch.com. It was live when we checked on November 1, 2026.
- Myrtlebeachgolf.com, which carries a live tee sheet for the course.
- A golf package from one of the Grand Strand package operators, which bundles the round with others and a room.
No advance booking window is published. For a spring or fall weekend, book as soon as your dates are fixed. Our Myrtle Beach tee times guide explains how the booking systems differ.
Glen Dornoch rates
Glen Dornoch uses dynamic pricing on its tee sheet, and we found no published seasonal rate card. The one dated figure in our files is a package-operator rate for an early-fall weekday, seen November 1, 2026:
| Date | Early AM | AM | PM | Late PM |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed Sep 16, 2026 | $148 | not shown | $148 | $104 |
That is a per-round rate from a package operator, not a rack rate, and it will move with the season. Spring and fall peaks usually run higher than late summer, and winter lower. Our Myrtle Beach golf rates guide shows how fees move through the year across the Strand.
The Glen Dornoch layout
Glen Dornoch is a waterway course. Its finish is what people book it for:
- 16th, par 4: runs beside the marsh.
- 17th, par 3: plays with a view over the Intracoastal Waterway.
- 16 through 18: billed by the course as the hardest stretch of the round.
Only the back tee rating is in our files: 6,890 yards, 73.1 rating, 145 slope. That is a high slope, so most groups should play a forward set. Our take is to leave the back tees to low single-digit players.
The club advertises new Champion ultradwarf greens, but does not say when they went in. Overseed and aerification dates are not published, so ask the shop before a winter trip or a late-summer round. See our winter conditions guide for what to expect on dormant bermuda.
Recent conditions at Glen Dornoch
Reviews on myrtlebeachgolf.com in 2026 were mixed:
- March 2026: cart shortages and delays.
- May and June 2026: uneven greens.
Neither is a reason to skip it, but both are a reason to read the latest reviews before locking Glen Dornoch into a peak-week package. The club site's news posts date from 2018, so there is no recent official conditions update to lean on.
Glen Dornoch vs the other Little River courses
Glen Dornoch sits with a cluster of courses on the north end of the Strand. These are the numbers from our files. Fees are package-operator rates per round on the dates shown, seen November 1, 2026, except Tidewater.
| Course | Back tees (yds, rating/slope) | Fee seen | Drive from SkyWheel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glen Dornoch | 6,890 (73.1/145) | $148 AM/PM, $104 late (Sep 16, 2026) | 38 min |
| River Hills | 6,918 (73.3/136) | $88 AM, $79 PM, $67 late (Sep 7, 2026) | 36 min |
| Long Bay | 7,025 (74.4/146) | $88 AM, $93 PM, $82 late (Oct 12, 2026) | 39 min |
| Eagle Nest | 6,907 Blue (72.3/130) | $75.10 all day, $55.10 late (Oct 5, 2026) | 40 min |
| Tidewater | 7,044 (74.3/144) | undated averages $118 weekday, $133 weekend (Chronogolf) | 38 min |
Glen Dornoch was the priciest of the dated figures, but the dates are not the same, so treat this as a guide.
- River Hills is the mid-priced Tom Jackson course nearby, with TifEagle greens from 2022.
- Long Bay is the Nicklaus course in Longs, with a 146 slope from the tips and an island-green par-3 13th. Some fall 2026 reviews mention worn cart paths and bunkers holding water after rain.
- Eagle Nest is the old-school value round, a 1971 Gene Hamm course with MiniVerde greens and a hard three-hole finish. Its Black/Perch tees run 8,168 yards and are billed as the longest in South Carolina, so we list the Blue tees here.
- Tidewater is the other marsh-and-waterway course on the North Strand, in Cherry Grove. See the Tidewater Golf Club guide.
Our guide to Little River golf courses covers the whole cluster, and North Myrtle Beach golf covers Barefoot, Tidewater and the rest of the North Strand.
Getting to Glen Dornoch
From the SkyWheel, Glen Dornoch is about 38 minutes and 24 miles by our router, north on US 17 through North Myrtle Beach. That is a free-flow estimate. Summer beach traffic on US 17 can add to it, so leave extra time for a morning tee time from a central Myrtle Beach hotel.
The drive is the main reason to group your north-end rounds. River Hills is about 36 minutes from the SkyWheel and Long Bay about 39, so a group based in central Myrtle Beach spends about 75 minutes in the car, there and back, for each of those rounds. Staying on the North Strand for those days cuts that sharply. See the River Hills course guide for the closest pairing.
Glen Dornoch and the Glens Group
The club site says Glen Dornoch is part of the Glens Golf Group. The same group once ran Heather Glen, a 27-hole course in Little River. The Glens Group closed Heather Glen in late November or early December 2017 and sold the land to D.R. Horton for housing. Our files did not confirm any Founders Group ownership of Glen Dornoch. For the courses that group does run, see the Founders Group courses guide.
Where to stay for Glen Dornoch
Glen Dornoch is a long way from central Myrtle Beach, so base yourself on the North Strand if it is on your list. By our router estimates:
- Hampton Inn North Myrtle Beach-Harbourgate: about 10 minutes and 4.5 miles.
- Avista Resort: about 15 minutes and 7.6 miles, oceanfront in North Myrtle Beach.
- Barefoot RV Resort: about 19 minutes and 10 miles.
Hotel rates for the Hampton Inn and Avista were not captured in our files, so check rates for your dates.
Is Glen Dornoch golf worth it?
For a group staying in North Myrtle Beach or Little River, yes, as one round. The closing stretch on the Intracoastal is the reason to book it, and the course is easy to book online. Play a forward set of tees, check recent reviews before a peak week, and pair it with River Hills or Eagle Nest if you want a cheaper second round nearby.
For the full hole map, see the Glen Dornoch course guide, and compare it against the best golf courses in Myrtle Beach.
Plan it on the map
Open the Myrtle Beach golf map to see Glen Dornoch beside the other Little River and Longs courses and the North Strand hotels, with drive times between them. The $30 plan builds a day-by-day golf trip that puts the north-end rounds on the days you are based nearby.
