Mojave Resort Golf Club: rates, the Avi connection and the Nevada clock

Mojave Resort Golf Club is the only course on the Nevada side at Laughlin: a flat, links-style Schmidt-Curley layout from 1997 beside the Avi Resort & Casino, about 27 minutes south of the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge. Fees are by phone at 702-535-4653, Avi and KOA guests get unstated discounts, and its tee sheet runs on Pacific time.

That last point is what trips up visitors staying in Arizona. This guide covers getting a rate, the Avi connection, the course and the clock.

Mojave Resort Golf Club rates

Mojave Resort does not publish green fees. When read on October 27, 2026, both the Avi and the club sites said to call 702-535-4653 for rates, and no current figure was found elsewhere. GolfNow lists the cart as included in the green fee, and rental clubs are available. The season note is simple: winter, January to March, is peak, and summer rates drop sharply because of the heat.

The ways to bring the price down are all linked to where you sleep:

• Avi Resort guests: the Avi's site says guests get reduced rates at the course. No amount is given.
• Avi KOA guests: the KOA page says KOA guests get discounted green fees. No amount is given.
• Stay and Play: the club names the Avi its preferred partner and also lists Tropicana, Edgewater, the Aquarius and Golden Nugget Laughlin as hotel partners, without package prices.

The Avi link

The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe owns the Avi Resort & Casino, Mojave Resort next door, and Huukan Golf Club in Fort Mohave. From the Avi the first tee is about three minutes away.

The course

Mojave Resort sits on the Colorado River floodplain south of the casino strip. It is flat, with wide fairways, wind-shaped dunes and a desert mountain backdrop; the wind is the main defence. Fairways are bermuda. The par-3 17th carries a $100,000 hole-in-one prize offer, according to Bullhead City's golf page.

Ratings from GolfPass. The slope of 136 from the Black tees is the second-highest near Laughlin, behind Laughlin Ranch. Practice facilities include a driving range, a chipping and pitching area, a putting green and a teaching pro; GolfLink lists 30 range tees. See the Mojave Resort course guide.

Dress rules, per GolfNow: collared shirt required, denim discouraged, no tank tops or cut-offs, and soft spikes only.

The Nevada clock

Mojave Resort's tee sheet runs on Pacific time. Bullhead City, Fort Mohave and the other Arizona towns keep Arizona time with no daylight saving, so from November 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027 Arizona is one hour ahead.

• Staying on Casino Drive or at the Avi: no adjustment.
• Staying in Bullhead City or Fort Mohave: a 9:00 tee time at Mojave Resort is 10:00 on your Arizona clock. You gain an hour.
• Playing Mojave Resort and Huukan on the same trip: they share an operator and booking system, but not a clock. Huukan is on Arizona time.

Overseed and season

The Avi's golf page gave the 2026 overseed as September 8 to October 8; the Arizona Golf Association schedule listed a reopening on October 9. Late October onward is the safe window. November brings mid-70s highs, and January to March is peak season. In summer, highs reach about 110F in July, so play at first light. See Laughlin golf overseed.

Getting there and pairing it

Mojave Resort is about 15.7 miles from the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge, south via Casino Drive and Needles Highway to Aha Macav Parkway. From the Casino Drive hotels it is about 26 to 28 minutes; from Snowbird RV Park in Fort Mohave about 12; the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Aztec Road links Fort Mohave with the Avi area.

Huukan, the former Desert Lakes, is about 15 minutes away across the river and run by the same operator. It is a gentler, tree-lined course with a slope of 115. The two make a natural pair because they play so differently. Mojave Resort Golf Club is defended mainly by the wind; Laughlin Ranch by forced carries over desert washes and big elevation changes.

Who Mojave Resort Golf Club suits

• Avi guests and KOA campers: the course is next door, with a guest discount to ask about.
• Mid handicaps: wide fairways and flat ground, with the Yellow tees at 6,435 yards a sensible choice.
• Snowbirds in Fort Mohave: about 12 minutes from Snowbird RV Park, with an hour gained on the clock in winter.
• Golfers on a budget: call first, because without a published rate you cannot compare it with El Rio or the Havasu twilight rates in advance.
