Guide emblem: Planning a Laughlin buddies golf trip: group rooms, tee times and budget

A Laughlin buddies golf trip works best with a Casino Drive hotel that sells a Laughlin Ranch package, two or three rounds within 30 minutes of the strip and Sunday-to-Thursday nights, when rooms are cheapest. Big groups fit at the Aquarius (1,906 rooms) or the Riverside (about 1,400). Budget for nightly resort fees on top.

Laughlin has what a golf group wants: cheap casino rooms, steakhouses, a beach, bowling and a good mix of courses on both sides of the river. It is also an easy drive from Las Vegas. This guide covers the decisions a group organiser has to make: which hotel, how to book tee times for eight or twelve, what it costs and which weekends to avoid. Prices were seen in October 2026 and change often.

Quick facts

  • Biggest hotels: the Aquarius (1,906 rooms), Harrah's (about 1,500), Tropicana (about 1,500) and the Riverside (about 1,400).
  • Golf packages: seven hotels are listed as Laughlin Ranch Stay & Play partners; none publishes prices.
  • Cheapest nights: Sunday to Thursday; aggregators put weeknights at about $55 and weekends at about $93.
  • Resort fees: roughly $18 to $27 a night at most casino hotels.
  • Marquee round: Laughlin Ranch, $137 to $169 with cart for non-residents in winter and spring.
  • Avoid: late-April rally week and the mid-October off-road race.

The Aquarius is the simplest choice for a large group: everyone in one building, a golf page that lists Laughlin Ranch, Mojave Resort, Los Lagos, Huukan, Rivers Edge and El Rio with booking phones, and a suggestion to ask about Aquarius discounts at those courses. It is a big property with long walks from parking to rooms.

The Riverside is the classic Laughlin base for a golf group. It sits at the north end of Casino Drive, about 11 minutes from Laughlin Ranch, and has a 34-lane bowling center, a six-screen cinema and a showroom for the evenings. Rooms are older and vary by tower, so ask for a renovated or riverview room.

Harrah's has an adults-only tower, which some groups prefer, and Caesars Rewards status carries over from Las Vegas. The Avi is quieter and about 10 miles south of the strip, but Mojave Resort is a 3-minute drive away and the Avi takes group bookings of 20 or more rooms a night. Only adults 21 and over can book there.

Golf packages and what they cost

Laughlin Ranch runs a Stay & Play program with the Riverside, Harrah's, Golden Nugget, the Aquarius, Edgewater, Tropicana and the Holiday Inn Express in Bullhead City (confirm that last one with the hotel). Most of the partners reserve the tee times while you book the room. No hotel publishes package prices.

The one priced example in our research is a GolfTroop listing: four golfers in double rooms, Sunday to Thursday at the Riverside, three rounds at Laughlin Ranch, from $107 to $299 per person per night depending on dates, valid through 12/31/26 on request. Treat that as a starting point for a quote, not a rate. Mojave Resort names the Avi as its preferred Stay & Play partner and also lists the Tropicana, Edgewater, Aquarius and Golden Nugget, again without prices. Our Laughlin golf packages guide compares them.

Booking tee times for a group

  • Laughlin Ranch books through its website, Chronogolf or the club app. Cancel 24 or more hours ahead or pay 50%; no-shows pay in full. Pricing is dynamic and can go higher than the table. The app has Daily Deals text alerts and a tee-time waitlist. The Laughlin Ranch course guide has the rate bands.
  • Mojave Resort and Huukan share an operator and book on EZLinks sheets or by phone. Neither publishes rates, so phone for a group price.
  • El Rio has resold times on GolfNow with a 20% deposit at booking, but it dropped off GolfNow in October 2026; call 928-768-3574.
  • Lake Havasu Golf Club's public sheet shows about a week at a time, so a group playing there books closer to the date.

None of the main courses publishes a booking window. For a group of eight or more, call the pro shop rather than booking pairs online, and ask for consecutive tee times. The Laughlin tee times guide covers each booking system.

Picking courses the group will enjoy

Mix one big test with easier rounds. Laughlin Ranch (7,155 yards, 143 slope from the Gold tees) is the marquee course, hilly with forced carries. Mojave Resort is flat and windy, and its par-3 17th carries a $100,000 hole-in-one prize offer, which makes for a good side bet. Huukan (115 slope from the back) is the gentlest full-length course in the valley. El Rio is second only to Laughlin Ranch for length at 7,143 yards from the Gold tees, and Los Lagos is a 6,921-yard Ted Robinson desert course; ask about conditions at both before booking.

For a cheap warm-up on arrival day, Riverview in Bullhead City is a 1,160-yard par-3 nine that sold GolfNow deals at $10 to $13 plus a $0.99 booking fee in late October 2026. Our best golf courses in Laughlin ranks the full list.

Budget: what a group will spend

Rooms are the cheap part. Aggregator data seen in October 2026 put Laughlin weeknights at about $55 and weekend nights at about $93, plus resort fees of roughly $18 to $27 a night, which can be more than half the room rate midweek. Two golfers to a room halves that. Friday and Saturday nights, holiday weekends and event weekends cost much more and sell out.

Golf is where the money goes. Laughlin Ranch is the only course with a full published table, from $137 Monday to Thursday in early winter up to $169 Friday to Sunday in spring. The other courses mostly say to call. Our Laughlin golf trip cost guide puts sample totals together.

Weekends to avoid

  • Late April: the Mayhem Motorcycle Rally in Bullhead City ran April 23-26, 2026, with heavy motorcycle traffic on SR 95, Casino Drive and the bridges, louder nights and higher weekend room rates.
  • Mid-October: the Laughlin Desert Classic off-road race (October 15-19, 2026) uses the Aquarius as headquarters and fills casino rooms. It is not a golf event.
  • Mid-September to mid-October: courses close in turn to overseed. Mojave Resort was shut from September 8 to October 8, 2026.
  • New Year's Eve: Laughlin casino rooms fill for the fireworks.

The Laughlin events guide lists everything that moves room prices.

Getting there and the clocks

Many groups drive in from Las Vegas, Phoenix or Southern California. From the Las Vegas airport rental car center it is about 99 miles, a 2 hour 19 minute free-flow estimate. From November 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027, the Arizona courses (Laughlin Ranch, Huukan, Los Lagos, El Rio) run an hour ahead of the casinos, so the group leaves an hour earlier by the hotel clock on those days. See Las Vegas to Laughlin for the drive.

Plan it on the map

Every hotel and course in this guide is on the Laughlin 3D map, with drive times and the rates seen in October 2026. Choose a base, add the group's courses and the $30 plan lays out the trip day by day, with each tee time on the right clock.
