Guide emblem: Destin golf trip cost: what green fees, rooms and extras add up to

A Destin golf trip cost comes down to where you play and where you sleep. Green fees for three rounds run from about $145 to $170 per golfer for a value mix west of Destin plus an Indian Bayou afternoon, to about $340 to $470 for Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay and the Raven, and $885 on the private St. Joe courses. Resort fees, parking and condo charges are the costs people forget.

All prices below were seen in October 2026 unless stated, and rates change. Where a hotel did not publish a rate, we say so rather than guess.

Quick facts

  • Cheapest full 18 seen: Shalimar Pointe, $33.99-$50.99 with cart (GolfNow, October 2026).
  • Top public rounds: Regatta Bay up to $189.99; the Raven $159 public in season.
  • Private St. Joe courses: $295 a round, inn guests only.
  • Resort fees: $40-$49 a day at the big beach resorts.
  • Cheapest season for golf and rooms together: winter, outside Christmas week.

A few notes on those numbers. The Fort Walton Beach city courses use dynamic pricing with no published rack rate; August 2026 deals ran $36.99 to $42.28 at the Pines and a July Monday snapshot showed about $54 to $67. Rocky Bayou is a flat $109 with cart and a bucket of range balls. Emerald Bay's top figure is a $140 a reviewer paid on September 16, 2026. Windswept Dunes deals ran $105 to $129 in mid-October 2026. For the course-by-course detail, see Destin golf rates.

Lodging: what we could price

Most hotels did not show live rates when we checked on October 26, 2026, so the table lists the fees and the few rates that were published.

Hidden costs to budget for

  • Resort fees. $40 a day at the Hilton Sandestin, $49 at the Henderson Beach Resort, and a reported $40 plus tax at Sandestin resort lodging, which is waived on its 28-night Winter Guest package.
  • Parking. $25 to $32 a day at Hotel Effie, $30 valet at the Hilton, and about $15 to $20 a night at the Holiday Inn Resort on Okaloosa Island.
  • Condo fees. Service and cleaning charges per stay at many condo resorts; the Destin West monthly condos charge a $150 cleaning fee.
  • The Mid-Bay Bridge. The last published toll (fiscal 2023, two-axle) was $4.00 cash or $2.00-$3.00 by SunPass; tolls rise each year and rental cars usually pay by plate.
  • Carts at the city club. The Fort Walton Beach cart fee was $20 in August 2026, with $32 proposed.
  • Club rental. $60 at the Links at Sandestin; $40 for 18 at Signal Hill in Panama City Beach.
  • Cancellations. Sandestin forfeits the whole reservation inside 7 days; the Fort Walton Beach club charges 50 percent for a late cancellation or no-show.

How to cut the cost

  1. Go in winter. Sandestin's 2026 winter public rates were $89 at the Links, $99 at Baytowne and $109 at the Raven, and resort-guest rates $69, $75 and $95.
  2. Play afternoons. Indian Bayou's afternoon deals dropped to about $75, half the price of a prime morning slot.
  3. Stay where the golf is discounted. Three rounds at Sandestin pay back the guest-rate saving quickly.
  4. Share a house. The Emerald Bay Guesthouse or a multi-bedroom Sandestin townhome spreads lodging across a group.
  5. Avoid spring break and summer for rooms. Those weeks bring the highest rates and week-long minimum stays.
