Course stamp: Bayou Vista Golf Course in Gulfport: the old Tramark, and the cheapest 18 on the coast

If you knew it as Tramark, it is the same course on Washington Avenue. This guide covers what Bayou Vista Golf Course costs, how to book, how it plays and where it fits on a coast trip. Prices were seen on October 25, 2026, and can change.

Bayou Vista golf course rates

Bayou Vista keeps it simple. There is one flat rate and no seasonal tiers, so the price is the same in March as in August. These are the rates from the course's rates page and the live Teesnap sheet, read October 25, 2026:

Item Price
18 holes with cart (standard)$28
18 holes walking$18
9 holes walking$11

Juniors, with cart / walking$23 / $15

Six range tokens$25

FlingGolf stick rental$10

Locals and long-stay snowbirds can buy unlimited golf memberships: $55 a month single, $85 a month for a couple, or $600 a year, plus a $10 cart fee.

How it compares with other cheap golf on the coast

Bayou Vista is the low-price floor. Here is how its $28 stacks up against the other lower-priced rounds the public can book, all seen in October 2026:

Course Lowest 18-hole price seen Notes
Bayou Vista$18 walking / $28 with cartFlat rate all year
Pass Christian Isles$36Sunday all day or from about 3:30 PM, cart included
The Oaks$39 weekdayLate twilight from about 4 PM, 7,006-yard course
Sunkist$59 weekdayFrom about 2 PM, cart included
Windance$85From 2 PM, cart included

The gap is real. A foursome at Bayou Vista with carts pays $112 in total, less than a single peak-season round at some of the bigger courses. Our guide to cheap golf on the Mississippi Gulf Coast covers every discount, and Biloxi golf rates lists the full price range at each course.

From Tramark to Bayou Vista

The course opened in 1957 as Tramark Golf Course and is owned by the City of Gulfport. In 2015 local news reported the city planned to move it to a private operator, and Coast Golf LLC has run it since April 1, 2017. Today it operates as Bayou Vista Golf Course.

Since then, the operator has added new tee boxes and bunkers, rebuilt greens and opened a new clubhouse with a full bar, according to the course site and its Facebook page. Exact dates for that work are not given. Our guide to closed golf courses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast explains which old names are gone for good and which, like Tramark, simply changed.

How Bayou Vista Golf Course plays

This is a short, flat municipal course with doglegs and holes along the bayou. It is not trying to be a championship test. These are the USGA ratings:

Tee Yards Par Rating / slope
Blue5,7277267.5 / 118 (men)
White5,4057266.0 / 115 (men)
Gold4,9217263.8 / 108 (men), 67.8 / 110 (women)
Red4,6107266.1 / 107 (women)

The USGA lists par 72 on every tee. An older GolfPass card shows par 71 at 5,915 yards, so the par is not fully settled. Either way, a slope of 118 from the back tees makes this the easiest regulation-length round on the coast, and a good one for beginners, juniors and higher handicaps.

What to expect on conditions

Be honest with your group about this. Google reviewers rate Bayou Vista 3.7 from 200 reviews. They praise the value and the staff, but several say conditioning can be uneven. Turf type and overseed practice are not published. The Bayou Vista course guide has the hole layout and tee data. Go in expecting a cheap, relaxed round, not a polished resort course.

Carts and extras

Carts have GPS screens, according to a Google review. The new clubhouse has a full bar, food and a Golden Tee machine. There is a driving range, rental clubs and FlingGolf sticks to rent if someone in the group wants to try it. The course runs a ladies' fall league and a Spark Golf league.

How to book Bayou Vista

Book on the course's Teesnap site. Walk-ins are accepted, but tee times are recommended and required on busy days, walkers included. A published booking window was not found, so if you are planning a weekend morning, book as soon as you know your dates rather than turning up. Our Biloxi tee times guide compares booking windows across the coast.

Where Bayou Vista fits on a trip

Bayou Vista works best as a second round of the day or a warm-up on arrival. At $28 it costs less than a twilight round almost anywhere else, so it is a low-risk way to add holes. It also makes sense for:

  • Mixed-ability groups where some players want a gentle course.
  • Arrival or departure days, since it is a few minutes from the airport.
  • Snowbirds and long stays, using the monthly unlimited membership.
  • Military golfers, with the $23 rate.

It is the wrong pick if you want the best conditioning on the coast. For that, look at Windance (our Windance course guide has the detail) or the Saucier courses. Our guide to the best golf courses in Biloxi ranks the top end.

Where to stay near Bayou Vista

The Hilton Garden Inn Gulfport Airport is about 1.1 miles and three minutes away. It is an airport and business hotel, so weekdays cost more: on its booking site, read October 25, 2026, Tuesday November 10 started at $138 for a king, while Saturday November 21 was $88 for a king and $96 for 2 queens, before tax.

The Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront is about 11 minutes away on the beach road, from $118 on Tuesday November 10 and $161 to $178 on Saturday November 21, before tax, plus $5 a day parking. Island View Casino Resort, about 13 minutes away, owns Windance and sells an unlimited-golf package there from $99.

Our guide to where to stay in Biloxi for golf compares every base. If you are building a budget trip across two states, cheap golf in Gulf Shores runs the same numbers for Alabama.

Plan it on the map

Open the Biloxi golf map to see Bayou Vista with its $28 rate, tee data and drive times from every hotel on the coast. The $30 plan can slot it in as a cheap second round or arrival-day nine alongside the bigger courses, so your trip spends its money where it counts.
