What the course is like
The Country Club at Soboba Springs opened in 1966 and was redesigned by Cary Bickler in 2006, when water and bunkers were added. It plays as a parkland course with Bermuda fairways and greens. The only tee set in our data is the Gold tee at 7,339 yards, with a rating of 75.3 and slope of 140, which our record calls "hard from the back."
The hole data shows it is long and varied. The par 5s run from 514 to 638 yards, with the 15th the longest at 638. The par 3s run from 139 to 236 yards, with the 14th at 205 and the 16th at 236 both over 200. Several par 4s are listed above 430 yards. That adds up to a course that rewards length from the tips.
Google reviewers give it 4.3 stars from 2,040 reviews. Our take: the best public course in the Hemet and San Jacinto valley, long and well kept.
Soboba Springs rates and the senior deal
The prices we have come from a listing checked April 27, 2026:
| Day | 18 holes with cart |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | $100 |
| Friday to Sunday | $125 |
| Holidays | $125 |
| Senior 55+ | $70 |
Tribal, junior, military and nine-hole rates exist and are quoted by phone. Another listing shows much lower prices, which are likely old. Our record advises that the $70 senior rate is the best value and says to ask about tribal and nine-hole rates. A booking window is not published.
Compare with the rest of the area in the Temecula golf rates guide. Soboba Springs costs more than most of the value courses nearby but sits well below Journey at Pechanga's $175 to $215.
Dress code
Soboba Springs asks for golf shorts or slacks and collared shirts, and no denim. That is standard, but worth knowing if you are arriving straight from a casino weekend.
Staying near Soboba Springs
The Soboba Casino Resort is about 4 minutes and 0.7 miles from the course. It opened in 2019, and reported room counts vary by source (147, 200, or 200 including 53 suites), so check before you book. It has no golf on site, rates were not captured and no stay-and-play link with the course was confirmed.
For RV travelers, the Diamond Valley RV Park is about 9 minutes away (4.8 miles) and the Golden Village Palms RV Resort is about 18 minutes (8.2 miles). See our Temecula RV parks guide for the long-stay picture.
Other Hemet and San Jacinto courses
| Course | Access | Rate seen | Drive from Old Town |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soboba Springs | Public | $100 to $125 | 50 min |
| Hemet Golf Club | Public | weekday $49, weekend $59 | 33 min |
| Echo Hills | Public | carts $5 per person | 37 min |
Hemet Golf Club's listing also shows a conflicting $70 and $80 regular rate with a $45 twilight, so sources disagree there. Echo Hills has an annual overseed, and its district page says walking only until about November 17, with no year stated. Diamond Valley in Hemet closed in 2019. Several small private community nines in Hemet are residents-only, and Seven Hills in Hemet has unclear status. The Hemet and San Jacinto golf guide goes through all of them.
Is the drive worth it?
Fifty minutes each way is a real commitment if you are based in wine country. Soboba Springs makes sense when:
- you are staying in Hemet, San Jacinto or at the casino;
- you want a long, tested course and are willing to pay $100 to $125, or $70 as a senior;
- you are building a snowbird rotation and want one day out of the valley.
Otherwise, the closer courses in the Temecula golf courses overview cover most trips. For timing, see the best time to golf in Temecula, and for the best options overall see the best golf courses in Temecula.
If you combine golf with a night at the casino, plan your transport so no one drives after drinking, and book a ride service or a driver for any wine tasting day.
