What is Soboba Springs like?
Soboba Springs is a public daily-fee course owned by the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, which bought it in 2004. Muirhead designed the original in 1966 and Cary Bickler redesigned it in 2006, adding water and bunkers. It has Bermuda fairways and greens, is open year-round, and has a 7,339-yard Gold tee. Google rates it 4.3 across 2,040 reviews. Dress code: collared shirts and golf shorts or slacks, no denim.
Our read is that it is the best public course in the Hemet and San Jacinto valley, long and well kept. The $70 senior rate for players 55 and over is the best value, and tribal and nine-hole rates are by phone. Soboba Casino Resort is 4 minutes away, and Diamond Valley RV Park is 9. See Soboba Springs golf for the full guide.
Is Hemet Golf Club worth it?
Hemet Golf Club on World Cup Ave is a public par-71 course that opened in 2003, with a range and restaurant. A listing checked in April 2026 showed 18 holes at $49 weekday and $59 weekend with cart, nine holes at $35 and $40, and twilight at $42 weekday after 1 pm and $49 weekend. A separate listing showed $70 and $80 regular with $45 twilight, so sources conflict. Hemet Golf Club is a straightforward round when Soboba is too dear. Google rates it 4.0 across 300 reviews.
Echo Hills and the small Hemet courses
Echo Hills is a nine-hole public course run by the Valley-Wide Recreation district: $15 daily, $10 from 1 pm, $12 for seniors and veterans, $5 for juniors, and carts $5 per person per round. Tee times are booked by phone at (951) 652-2203. The course overseeds annually and is walking only until about November 17, though the district page does not state the year. Treat it as a warm-up, not a destination.
Several other nine-hole courses in the Hemet area are listed as private, for residents, members and guests only: The Lakes at Hemet West, Panorama Village, Colonial Country Club, Highland Palms in Homeland and Golden Era in Gilman Hot Springs. Their status is unclear and they are not on the map. Seven Hills, a Rainville design from 1972, is listed by some sites with rates but one listing shows it closed, so status is unclear: call (951) 925-4815. Diamond Valley closed in June 2019.
