What are the Menifee Lakes courses like?

The Palms is palm-lined, with less water than the Lakes, and 100-plus bunkers, many of them fairway bunkers on the back nine. Tees run from 5,471 yards (Red) to 6,567 (Black). The Lakes is a strategic, risk-reward layout with water on nearly every hole, 100-plus bunkers and mature trees, with tees from 5,453 to 6,528 yards.

Our read: the Palms is the friendlier pick for a mixed-handicap group, and the Lakes is the one for a tougher round. Both are Ted Robinson Sr. designs. Pricing is the open question. GreenFeeTracker says the club does not post rates online. Undated third-party listings range from $49 weekday and $69 weekend to a GolfLink estimate near $60 with cart. Treat those as a guide only and call (951) 672-4824. See the Menifee Lakes Palms course guide and the longer Menifee Lakes golf guide.

What happened to Cherry Hills in Sun City?

Cherry Hills closed in 2024. GolfPass's editor note says it closed for business that year. Menifee247 reported in May 2026 that the owner, Ambient Communities, which bought it in January 2024, had shown residents options of up to 1,300 homes, with no application filed. The course should not be part of any plan. See closed golf courses near Temecula.

Is Sun City North worth playing?

Sun City North is a flat community course at 26660 McCall Blvd, open to outside play through GolfNow. It looks cheap but rates are by phone only, so we cannot give a price. Where to stay for Menifee golf

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Menifee is 8 minutes from Menifee Lakes. Sun City Menifee 55+ rentals are about 4 minutes from Sun City North and 13 from Menifee Lakes, a snowbird option, but rental rules are set by communities and short-term rules were not researched. The Hampton Inn & Suites Murrieta Temecula is 18 minutes from the Palms. Rates for these were not captured. Read Temecula snowbird rentals for the winter angle.

How Menifee fits a Temecula golf trip

Menifee works best as a value stop on a winter or midweek trip, paired with Hemet and the Murrieta courses. For the valley core, start with Temecula golf courses. Compare it with Murrieta golf courses and Hemet and San Jacinto golf, and look at cheap golf in Temecula for the lowest fees. Snowbirds can plan rotations with Temecula winter golf for snowbirds.

How should you book Menifee golf without published rates?

Call the club on (951) 672-4824 for Menifee Lakes and ask three things: the price for each of the two courses, whether a cart is included, and which course your tee time is on. Both courses share one clubhouse and range, and the tee sheets are separate, so a booking can easily land on the wrong one if you do not specify.

For Sun City North, the course lists public tee times on GolfNow and rates by phone at (951) 679-5111. If you are staying a week or more, ask both clubs about multi-round or senior rates, because neither publishes a rate card.

Who are Menifee golf courses best for?

Value seekers and snowbirds who stay in the Menifee and Sun City area. For a short trip, the valley courses are the better use of time. For a longer stay, a weekly rotation that includes Menifee Lakes, Sun City North, Hemet Golf Club and Soboba Springs spreads the cost and the driving. The Palms has less water than the Lakes, so mixed-handicap groups can start there.

Plan it on the map

Open the Temecula golf map to see how Menifee sits against Hemet, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore. The $49 plan can cover a whole winter with a weekly course rotation, or a short golf trip with a Menifee value day built in.
