Course elevations: Shingle Creek Golf Club: the Rosen course near International Drive and Universal

Shingle Creek Golf Club is the public resort course at Rosen Shingle Creek, off Universal Boulevard near International Drive and the Convention Center. It is a 2003 David Harman design, renovated by Arnold Palmer Design in 2016, at 7,213 yards and 74.3/137 from the Black tees. Anyone can book on the club site, by phone or on GolfNow, and Rosen guests walk to the first tee.

The research calls it the best everyday resort course in the I-Drive and convention corridor: long, well kept and easy to book. This guide covers the tees, booking, the hotel and what to pair it with. Facts were checked in November 2026; pricing is dynamic.

The drop from Black to Gold is the big one: 613 yards and seven points of slope. For a mixed group, Gold or Blue keeps the round moving.

The course

Shingle Creek follows the creek of the same name, the headwaters of the Everglades, through oaks and pines, with water on most holes. Greens are bermuda (per GolfPass). There is a driving range, a putting green and a chipping area. Carts are available and there are no caddies. Reviewers praise the conditioning but report slow rounds on busy days, so book an early tee time. Our Shingle Creek course guide has the layout on the map.

Booking Shingle Creek Golf Club

Book on the club site, by phone on 407-996-1559 or on GolfNow. Pricing is dynamic on both, and the files hold no published rate card or booking window. Three timing notes:

  • Convention weeks. The course sits by the Orange County Convention Center. The PGA Show (January 26-29, 2027) fills International Drive and Universal-area hotels, so book rooms early that week.
  • Peak season. January to April has the highest fees and fullest tee sheets.
  • Summer. June to September is cheapest, with afternoon thunderstorms on 14-17 days a month at MCO; play early.

Dress code: collared shirts for men, no denim, Bermuda-length shorts and no metal spikes. More on booking systems in Orlando tee times.

Staying at Rosen Shingle Creek

Rosen Shingle Creek is a very large convention hotel with the course out back, about a minute from the first tee, and it sells golf packages.

Rosen Shingle Creek What the files say
Resort feenot on the November 2026 third-party list; Roomer says none; Hotels.com lists a $10 per person per day facilities fee
Self-parking$32-36 plus tax per night
Valet$45-48 plus tax per night
Golfcourse on the property; packages through the hotel
Room ratesnot in our files
Google rating4.6 from 14,646 reviews

The research's take: practical for big buddies groups who want golf on site and possibly no resort fee, but expect long walks and busy lobbies on show weeks. Compare it in Orlando golf resorts and Orlando resort fees.

A cheaper I-Drive option is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites International Drive, 13 minutes from the course, with no resort fee on the November 2026 list.

Shingle Creek Golf Club vs Grande Lakes

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes is 12 minutes from Rosen Shingle Creek and the obvious comparison:

The research's view: Grande Lakes is worth it if you want caddies and resort polish; otherwise Shingle Creek is close by for less. See the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando guide and the Grande Lakes course guide.

Who Shingle Creek Golf Club suits

Convention and PGA Show visitors. The course is a short hop from the Orange County Convention Center, so an early round before a show day or a late one after it is realistic. In PGA Show week, remember that Demo Day on January 26, 2027 is at Orange County National, not here.

Families on a Universal or SeaWorld trip. With Universal about 15 minutes away and SeaWorld close by (course estimates), one golfer can play at dawn and join the family by lunch. The Silver and Ivory tees, at 5,582 and 4,945 yards, give teenagers and newer golfers a fair test.

Buddies groups. Rosen Shingle Creek is big enough to house a large group, the course is on site, and the hotel's resort-fee position may save money against the other golf resorts. Pair it with Grande Lakes, Orange County National or the Disney courses for a three- or four-course trip. See Orlando buddies golf trip.

Snowbirds. A treat round rather than a weekly home course, since pricing is dynamic and no season pass is in our files. For a weekly rotation, courses with published passes, such as Winter Park Pines ($1,650 non-resident annual play pass) or Royal St. Cloud ($1,575 annual membership), cost less.

Shingle Creek through the year

NOAA normals at MCO give highs of about 72F in January, 79F in March, 78F in November and 92F in July. November and December are the driest months and the best value before peak fees. Fall overseed dates for Shingle Creek were not published in our files; ask when you book a November or December round. In summer, the pattern is dry, steamy mornings and afternoon storms, so the first tee times are the ones to book.
