Central Florida golf splits into seven areas around Orlando: Disney and Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee and Celebration, ChampionsGate and Davenport, Winter Garden and Clermont, Lake Nona and the east side, Winter Park, and Seminole County. Each has a different mix of public, resort and private courses, and picking the right one saves hours of I-4 driving.

This guide takes the areas one at a time with the courses a visitor can book, the private clubs to skip and the drive to Disney Springs and downtown. Fees were seen in November 2026 unless dated, and rates change.

  • Most courses: the west side and the south (Kissimmee to Davenport).

Disney and Lake Buena Vista

The best-known Central Florida golf is here. Disney's Magnolia runs 7,505 yards at 76.6/142, Palm is tighter at 6,840 yards and Lake Buena Vista reopens November 9, 2026 with rebuilt greens. All three take public bookings 90 days ahead at the same rates Disney hotel guests pay. Next door, the Rees Jones Waldorf Astoria Golf Club rates 74.5/145, and Nicklaus's two Grand Cypress courses at Evermore are public with a 60-day window. Tranquilo is only for Four Seasons guests and members. Read Disney World golf courses and our Magnolia course guide.

Kissimmee and Celebration

Along US-192 south of Disney, the courses are daily-fee and built for visitors. Celebration Golf Club was the last course co-designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. (1996). Falcon's Fire, a Rees Jones course from 1993, sits by Disney's main gate and handles big outings. Mystic Dunes has rare rolling, sandy ground. East toward St. Cloud, Kissimmee Bay and Remington take public tee times. Kissimmee Golf Club closed in 2018. Full detail in Kissimmee golf courses.

ChampionsGate, Reunion and Davenport

This is vacation-home country off I-4 and US-27. The Omni's two Greg Norman courses, ChampionsGate International and National, are public with Omni guest priority; GolfLink showed $140-189 for November 5, 2026. The community ChampionsGate Country Club was from $49. Reunion's Palmer, Watson and Nicklaus courses are for resort guests, members and partner-rental guests. Farther south, Providence publishes $99 before 2 pm for November-December 2026, Highlands Reserve sits among rental homes, and Southern Dunes in Haines City is the big sand-hill test. See ChampionsGate golf and Reunion Resort golf.

Winter Garden, Windermere and Clermont

The west side is where golf-first groups stay. Orange County National has Panther Lake, Crooked Cat (a 2023 LIV venue) and a lodge. Stoneybrook West rates 74.8/135 from 7,101 yards, and Forest Lake in Ocoee runs 7,221 yards. Around Clermont, Clermont National reopened after a renovation in November 2023 and was from $69.99 on GolfNow for November 5, 2026; Legends was from $45 and Green Valley charges $29 after 3 pm. Isleworth and Bella Collina are private. North-west, Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills has two 18s about an hour from downtown. Our Crooked Cat course guide covers the links-style OCN course.

Lake Nona and east Orlando

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is a private Tom Fazio club and hosts the LPGA's Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (February 4-7, 2027). For visitors, Eagle Creek is the pick: a Ron Garl and Howard Swan par 73 at 7,200 yards with more than 60 bunkers, from $40 on GolfNow for November 5, 2026. North Shore is also by the airport, and Rio Pinar, a 1957 club where Palmer and Trevino won the Florida Citrus Open, sells daily green fees. Our Eagle Creek course guide has more.

Winter Park

The shortest drives from downtown. The Winter Park Golf Course is a 1914 nine through the streets, $33 Monday to Thursday and $40 at weekends for non-residents in winter. Winter Park Pines is a short par 70 at $55-60 with cart, and Dubsdread in College Park, a 1924 city course, is about 9 minutes from downtown. Interlachen is private. More in Winter Park golf.

Seminole County

North of Orlando near Sanford airport. Mayfair, a 1922 course its club calls one of Donald Ross's first designs, posts $53.95-57.95 before 11 am from November 15, 2026 and $32.95-35.95 after 2 pm. Wekiva, Casselberry, Twin Rivers and Links of Lake Mary take public tee times. Heathrow, Alaqua and Tuscawilla are member clubs. See Lake Mary golf courses.

Central Florida golf through the year

The whole region shares one climate, so season matters more than area. NOAA normals at MCO give about 72F highs in January and 92F in July. November and December are the driest months, at about 1.8-2.5 inches of rain, and the best value before peak fees from January to April. June to September brings afternoon thunderstorms on 14-17 days a month and the lowest rates.

Area does matter for maintenance. Resort and high-end courses around Disney overseed in the fall: Palm was closed November 9-27, 2026, Magnolia closes December 1-18 and Oak Trail closed November 9-12. The city courses in Winter Park close one Monday a month instead. Read the best time to golf in Orlando before booking a November or December trip.

Picking your Central Florida golf base

  • Family with park days: Lake Buena Vista or Bonnet Creek.
  • Golf-first group: Winter Garden near OCN, or ChampionsGate for 36 holes and big rental homes.
  • Snowbird winter: Davenport, Kissimmee or Clermont, with cheap courses and published passes such as Royal St. Cloud's.
  • Short city break: Winter Park or downtown, with Dubsdread and the Winter Park courses close.

Florida's other golf regions follow the same pattern; compare the Naples golf map on the Gulf coast.

Questions golfers ask

Which part of Central Florida has the most golf?

On our map, the west side (Winter Garden, Windermere, Clermont and Montverde) and the south side (Kissimmee, Celebration, ChampionsGate, Reunion and Davenport) hold the most courses. The Disney and Lake Buena Vista area has fewer but better-known courses.

Is Central Florida golf cheaper away from Disney?

Usually. GolfNow showed Ventura from $31.99 and Sweetwater from $25 for November 5, 2026, and Green Valley in Clermont charges $29 after 3 pm. Disney publishes seasonal discounts rather than dollar rates, and ChampionsGate International showed $140-189 on the same date.

Which Central Florida golf area is closest to the airport?

Lake Nona and east Orlando. Eagle Creek is about 15 minutes from MCO by the course's estimate, and North Shore is also near the airport. Lake Nona Golf & Country Club itself is private.

Where is the best Central Florida golf base for a family doing Disney?

Lake Buena Vista or Bonnet Creek. The Lake Buena Vista area centre is about 2 minutes from Disney Springs with no traffic, and Disney Resort hotel guests get a 90-day window, discounts and a free taxi to the four Disney courses (per an undated golfwdw.com page).

Are there hilly courses in Central Florida?

A few. Southern Dunes in Haines City has about 100 feet of elevation change, Orange County National's Panther Lake up to 60 feet, and Mystic Dunes and the Mission Inn courses have rolling ground. The Lake Wales Ridge near Clermont is the only real relief on the board.

Which Central Florida golf areas are mostly private?

Windermere and Seminole County hold most of the private clubs: Isleworth, Orange Tree, Heathrow, the Legacy Club, Alaqua and Tuscawilla. Lake Nona and Interlachen in Winter Park are private too. Visitors play them only as a member's guest.

How long are drives between Central Florida golf areas?

Free-flow, ChampionsGate is about 20 minutes from Disney Springs, Winter Garden about 31 and Lake Mary about 49. I-4 traffic often adds 15-45 minutes at rush hour and around park opening and closing.
