LaPlaya Golf Club Naples: the guest-only course for LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort

LaPlaya Golf Club Naples is a Robert Cupp par-72 course open only to guests of LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort on Vanderbilt Beach and to the club's members. Resort guests do not need a membership. The course sits inland in Palm River, about 11 minutes from the hotel, and guest green fees are not published, so ask about the golf package.

It is one of a handful of good courses in Southwest Florida that a visitor can only reach through a hotel room. This guide explains who can play, how booking works, what the resort costs once fees are added, and what to play if LaPlaya is not on your itinerary. Who can play LaPlaya Golf Club Naples

LaPlaya Golf Club has two routes in: stay at the resort, or be a member of LaPlaya Beach & Golf Club. Membership tiers exist (beach, social and golf), but prices are not published. For a visitor, the only route is a room at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort.

There is no public tee sheet and no GolfNow listing in the files. That is the appeal for some golfers: a quiet round without the crowds of a public course in peak season. It is also the limit. If you are not staying at LaPlaya, you cannot book it.

Booking a tee time as a resort guest

Tee times run in 10-minute intervals and are booked through the club on 239-431-9330. The resort's own site also gives 239-254-5001. No online booking link or booking window was published, so call when you book the room, especially for January to April.

The resort's 2026 advance-purchase package is the clearest deal: 10% off stays of two or more nights plus a round of golf with cart, green fee and practice balls. The research's advice is to check the package rate before you book the room, since guest green fees are not published.

The course

The files hold less about the golf here than about most courses on the map. What they confirm:

Most Southwest Florida courses aerify for a week or more in summer, and LaPlaya's 2026 dates were not on the pages read. If you are booking June to September, ask whether the course is open on your dates. For the hole map, open the LaPlaya course guide.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort: what the stay costs

The resort is on the Gulf at 9891 Gulf Shore Dr on Vanderbilt Beach. It opened in 1968 and fully reopened in May 2024 after a post-Ian restoration of more than $60 million.

The resort fee and valet together come to about $100 a night before tax. On site: a private Gulf beach with attendants, four pools and a hot tub, SpaTerre, a fitness center and a watersports dock. Restaurants are BALEEN on the beach, the elements bar and a Tiki Bar & Grill. An Air Canada Vacations note says exterior enhancements are scheduled, so ask whether work is under way during your dates.

The drive to the first tee

The course is not on the hotel property. The map's drive estimates from the resort:

These are free-flow estimates without traffic. In January to April, US 41, Vanderbilt Beach Road and Immokalee Road can add time at rush hour. The research suggests allowing 10-15 minutes by car to the course.

LaPlaya vs Tiburon

Both are guest-only routes in North Naples, a few miles apart, and they suit different trips.

• LaPlaya puts you on the beach, with one course a short drive away and a package that includes a round. Quieter golf, fewer published numbers.
• Tiburon puts you on the course at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburon, with two Greg Norman 18s outside the lobby and three tour events a season. The beach is a shuttle away, and the resort fee there is $66.60.

Public golf near LaPlaya

If you stay elsewhere, or want a second course, the nearest public option in the files is ArrowHead Golf Club, a flat public 18 with 16 lakes off Immokalee Rd. It plays 6,832 yards at 73.1/130 from the back, and GolfNow showed a summer afternoon deal at $51.99 with cart in August 2026. Off the course

Vanderbilt Beach has its own dinner spots: BALEEN at the resort, and The Turtle Club Restaurant at 9225 Gulf Shore Dr, where sunset tables go first in season. Questions to ask before you book the room

• Is a round included? The 2026 advance-purchase package includes one round with cart and range balls on stays of two or more nights.
• What is the guest green fee for extra rounds? It is not published.
• Is the course open on my dates? Summer aerification dates were not published.
• Is exterior work under way? An Air Canada Vacations note says enhancements are scheduled.
• What will I pay in fees? The fact page lists the $57 resort fee plus tax and $44 valet a night.

Is LaPlaya Golf Club worth it?

For a couple who wants a beach hotel and a few quiet rounds, yes: the package bundles a round, and there is no public crowd on the tee sheet. The trade-offs are clear. The fees add about $100 a night before tax, the course is a drive from the hotel, and almost nothing about the golf itself (green fees, tees, slopes) is published. Ask the resort for the package terms and the course's dates in writing.
