Guide emblem: Needles golf course guide: Rivers Edge, its passes and the California clock

The Needles golf course is Rivers Edge, the City of Needles' 18-hole municipal course on the Colorado River, about 40 minutes south of the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge. It is flat and walkable, publishes passes from $285 a month, and runs on Pacific time, the same as Laughlin and one hour behind Arizona in winter.

Daily green fees are not published, which makes Rivers Edge more of a winter-stay course than a one-round stop. This guide covers the layout, the 2026-27 passes and how the California clock affects your tee times.

The Needles golf course at a glance

Rivers Edge is a flat riverside course with long par 3s, owned by the City of Needles. GolfPass credits Harry and David Rainville with the 1964 design. The course is open daily from dawn to 5 PM, carts in by sunset, and it books online through Club Caddie or by phone. The Colorado Room restaurant has river views, and there is a range.

It is not a hard course: the slope is 117 from the Black tees. That and the walkable terrain make it a steady pick for regular rounds over a long stay.

Rivers Edge passes for 2026-27

The membership page, read in October 2026, lists these passes. All are marked subject to change.

Pass Price
3-month pass, with cart and range$1,200
Monthly pass, with cart and range$425
Monthly pass, walking$285
Annual pass, with cart$1,850
Annual pass, walking$1,350
Range pass$64.95 a month or $300 a year

The 3-month pass works out to about $400 a month, cheaper than paying $425 for each month separately, so it suits a winter stay of 12 weeks or so. Played three times a week over 12 weeks, that is 36 rounds at about $33 each with a cart. Walkers staying a month pay $285. Our guide to golf season passes around Lake Havasu and Laughlin compares these with the Lake Havasu Golf Club memberships and Laughlin Ranch's local rates.

Daily rounds: what is and is not published

The course site does not list daily green fees, and no 2026-27 rate card was found elsewhere. Call 760-326-3931 or check the Club Caddie page before you go. The Aquarius Casino Resort's golf page lists Rivers Edge among six area courses and says to ask about Aquarius discounts when booking a room there, so it is worth asking if you stay at the Aquarius. No overseed dates were published either, so call ahead in September and October.

The city has backed the course financially: in February 2022 the council moved $2.8 million from reserves to clear the golf fund deficit. The site was live in October 2026 with events listed for November 14 and November 28.

Booking a tee time at the Needles golf course

Tee times book online through Club Caddie, linked from golfneedlesca.com, or by phone at 760-326-3931. The booking window is not published. Because the course closes at 5 PM and carts must be in by sunset, winter afternoon rounds are short: in December and January, book by late morning if you want all 18 holes. Pass holders should ask the shop how their tee times are reserved and whether guests can join them.

The Needles golf course has a range, so you can warm up before a round, and a range pass is sold on its own for $64.95 a month. Pack layers for early starts: Laughlin's normal lows sit in the mid-40s in December and January, and Needles runs a little warmer at night.

The California clock

Needles is in California, so Rivers Edge keeps Pacific time, the same as Laughlin. Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley and Lake Havasu City are in Arizona, with no daylight saving. From November 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027 Arizona is one hour ahead.

What that means in practice:

  • Staying on Casino Drive: no adjustment. A 9:00 tee time at Rivers Edge is 9:00 on your hotel clock.
  • Staying in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave or Lake Havasu City: you gain an hour. A 9:00 tee time at Rivers Edge is 10:00 on your Arizona clock.
  • Phones: near the river, a phone can pick up a tower on the other side and show the wrong time. Check its time zone setting in winter.

From March 14 to November 7, 2027 the two clocks match. Our Laughlin time zone guide covers every course.

Getting there and pairing it with other courses

Rivers Edge is about 25.6 miles from the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge via Needles Highway on the Nevada and California side, about 40 minutes on a free-flow estimate. Interstate 40 crosses the river at Topock, between Needles and Kingman.

Drive times from bases along the river:

Base Drive to Rivers Edge
Snowbird RV Park, Fort Mohave19 min
Avi Resort & Casino, Laughlin26 min
Vista Del Sol RV Resort, Bullhead City27 min
Riverside Resort, Laughlin42 min
Havasu Falls RV Resort, Lake Havasu City47 min
London Bridge Resort, Lake Havasu City55 min

That puts it within easy reach of the Fort Mohave courses. Huukan, El Rio and Los Lagos are on the Arizona side to the north, and Mojave Resort, the other Pacific-time course, is beside the Avi Resort & Casino. A winter base at Snowbird RV Park or Vista Del Sol can rotate between all five. See our Fort Mohave golf guide and the Huukan course guide.

Weather in Needles

Needles is slightly warmer than Laughlin: NOAA normals put Needles Airport about 1F warmer by day and 2F to 5F warmer at night. Laughlin's normal highs are about 74F in November and 64F in January, so Needles winter afternoons are comfortable for golf. Summer is extreme, with Laughlin highs near 110F in July, so summer golf here means first light. See best time to golf in Laughlin.

Who Rivers Edge suits

  • Snowbirds on a 2 to 3 month stay: the 3-month pass with cart is the value play.
  • Walkers: flat ground and a $285 monthly walking pass.
  • Laughlin casino guests: same clock, 40 minutes away, and a change from Laughlin Ranch's hills.
  • Golfers wanting a big test: look at Laughlin Ranch or Mojave Resort instead.

Our Laughlin winter golf guide shows how a pass course like the Needles golf course fits a season, and Colorado River golf shows where Needles sits on the river.
