Fact box: Flights to Laughlin for golfers: which airport and how long a drive

Flights to Laughlin almost always mean flying into Las Vegas (LAS), about 139 minutes and 98.8 miles away by free-flow routing. The Laughlin/Bullhead airport (IFP) handles casino charter flights only. Phoenix (PHX) is a 284-minute drive to Laughlin but the better gateway for Lake Havasu City. Lake Havasu's own airport has no airline service.

For a golf trip, choosing flights to Laughlin comes down to where you base and which clock you want. Here is how the four airports compare.

Quick facts

  • Main gateway: Las Vegas (LAS), Pacific time, same clock as Laughlin.
  • Laughlin/Bullhead (IFP): casino charters, no confirmed scheduled service for winter 2026-27.
  • Best for Lake Havasu: Phoenix (PHX), Arizona time, same clock as Havasu.
  • Lake Havasu City airport (HII): no airline service.
  • Rental cars: at the LAS Rent-A-Car Center and the PHX Rental Car Center; not verified at IFP.
  • Canadian nonstops to LAS: Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg.

Drive times are free-flow estimates from the OSRM router, queried October 27, 2026. OSRM tends to run slower than real highway driving, so treat them as conservative.

Las Vegas: the usual choice

Las Vegas is usually the cheapest and best-connected option for Laughlin. Rental cars are at the off-airport Rent-A-Car Center. From there it is US-95 south through Boulder City and Searchlight, then NV-163 east over the mountains to Laughlin. The routing estimate is 139 minutes for 98.8 miles; the drive is commonly quoted as about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Las Vegas and Laughlin share Pacific time all year, so your flight times and your Laughlin hotel clock match. The Arizona courses across the river run one hour ahead from November 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027.

The only course on the Nevada side is Mojave Resort, beside the Avi at the south end of Laughlin, about 27 minutes from the Laughlin bridge. Its tee sheet runs on the same Pacific clock as your flight. The Mojave Resort course guide has the details, and our Las Vegas to Laughlin guide covers the drive.

Shuttle services between LAS and Laughlin exist, but their schedules and fares were not verified. For a golf trip with clubs and several courses, a rental car is the practical choice.

Phoenix: better for Lake Havasu

Phoenix is a long drive to Laughlin: 284 minutes and 227.8 miles via US-93 north through Wickenburg to I-40 at Kingman, then AZ-68 west. Parts of US-93 have few services, so fuel up in Wickenburg.

For Lake Havasu City, Phoenix makes more sense. It is 230 minutes and 205.4 miles via I-10 west and AZ-95 north through Parker, or via US-93 and I-40. Phoenix, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City all run on Arizona time all year, so there is no clock change on arrival.

A Havasu base puts you near Lake Havasu Golf Club and Iron Wolf. Coming from Phoenix via Parker, Emerald Canyon sits on the Parker Strip, about 40 minutes south of Lake Havasu City by our estimate. The Lake Havasu Golf Club West course guide has rates.

Laughlin/Bullhead International (IFP): charters only

IFP sits on the Arizona bank directly across the river from the Laughlin casinos, about 10 minutes and 3.7 miles by road over the Laughlin-Bullhead City Bridge. It is the closest airport by far, but no scheduled airline service could be confirmed for winter 2026-27.

Traffic is mainly casino charter flights, largely Sun Country Boeing 737s sold as air-and-room packages through Laughlin casinos. An aggregator listed about 15 low-frequency Sun Country routes, one or two flights a week, from places such as Rockford, Pasco, Bellingham, Billings, Des Moines, Eau Claire, Fresno, Oakland, Rochester MN, St. Cloud and Albuquerque. That fits a casino-charter pattern rather than seats sold to the public. Earlier scheduled services, such as Elite Airways to Phoenix from July 2018, did not last.

If a charter flies from your home city, ask the casino's players club or package desk. Charter packages usually include casino shuttles. Rental-car availability at IFP was not verified, which matters for a golf trip: you need a way to reach Laughlin Ranch and the Fort Mohave courses. The Laughlin Ranch course guide has its booking rules.

IFP is in Arizona, so its clock is one hour ahead of the Laughlin casinos in winter.

Lake Havasu City Airport (HII): no airlines

Lake Havasu City's airport is about 15 minutes and 8.4 miles from town, but it has no commercial airline service. The city's airport page points travellers to Las Vegas or Phoenix. Flight trackers show Empire Airlines flights to Phoenix, but Empire is a cargo feeder operator, not a passenger airline. HII is for private pilots and charters.
