Tee-time ticket: Las Vegas National Golf Club: the parkland course 10 minutes east of the Strip

Las Vegas National Golf Club is a public, tree-lined parkland course 10 minutes east of the Strip at 1911 E Desert Inn Rd. Green Fee Tracker listed it at $179 weekday and weekend in April 2026, there is no hotel tie-in needed, and it rents current Callaway and TaylorMade sets, which suits a Strip group flying without clubs.

This guide covers what we know about the course, the price on record, rental clubs, drive times from the Strip hotels, the season and the alternatives close by. Our files are thin on its history, and we say where.

What we know about Las Vegas National Golf Club

Las Vegas National is an old-Vegas parkland course a few minutes east of the Strip. Trees line the holes. Our files tag it as a classic and as a course close to the Strip with no hotel tie-in needed.

What the files do not hold: its opening year, designer, par, tees, ratings or tournament history. The official site timed out when checked on November 4, 2026, and the address comes from directory data rather than a fresh check. We have left out anything we could not confirm. If its history is the reason you want to play it, ask the shop.

Green fee, weekend$179Green Fee Tracker, Apr 2026
Rental clubs$69course rental page, undated
Rental clubs after noon$59course rental page, undated

The $179 figure was listed in April, during the spring peak. The season files describe the pattern across the valley: spring (March to May) and fall (October to mid-November) carry the highest green fees, December to February is cheaper, and June to September is the cheapest. No off-peak figure for Las Vegas National is on record. See Las Vegas golf rates.

Rental clubs

Las Vegas National lists rental sets at $69, or $59 after noon, with new Callaway and TaylorMade sets for 2026. The page is undated.

For a Strip group playing two or three rounds, renting can beat flying with clubs: the extras file notes that airline golf-bag fees often make renting cheaper for a 2-3 round trip. Hotel-delivery rental services also exist, priced in a 2026 guide at about $60 to $330+ a day by brand, not confirmed on the providers' sites. Our Las Vegas golf club rentals guide compares the options.

Drive times from the Strip

Las Vegas National Golf Club is one of the shortest rides from a Strip hotel, especially from the north end.

From Drive
Fontainebleau Las Vegas7 min, 2.7 mi
Wynn Las Vegas7 min, 2.8 mi
The Venetian8 min, 3.4 mi
Resorts World8 min, 3.4 mi
Caesars Palace10 min, 4.3 mi
MGM Grand10 min, 4.3 mi
Mandalay Bay12 min, 5.7 mi

That makes it workable by ride-hail or taxi for a group without a rental car, though the files did not compare prices. In Grand Prix week (November 19-21, 2026), road closures and grandstand work around the Strip, Koval Ln, Harmon Ave and Sands Ave disrupted traffic in past editions, so allow extra time.

Close-in alternatives

Four courses sit within about 15 minutes of the Strip at Flamingo Rd:

Course From the Strip Access Price seen

Las Vegas National10 minpublic$179 (Apr 2026)
Las Vegas Golf Club14 minpublic, city-ownedaround $40 with cart on GolfNow hot deals, 2026

Las Vegas National is the middle option on price: well below Bali Hai's peak range and Wynn, and well above the municipal Las Vegas Golf Club, a flat 1938 William P. Bell course run by Arcis. See the Bali Hai course guide, the Las Vegas Golf Club course guide and our golf near the Las Vegas Strip guide.

Nearby but not an option: Las Vegas Country Club, a mile east of the Strip, is private, members and guests only. And Desert Pines, the city course on E Bonanza Rd, closed for good on July 12, 2026; see closed golf courses in Las Vegas.

Where to stay for Las Vegas National

The north and centre Strip hotels are the closest, and for a golf group the line items that differ are the resort fee and parking (resort fees from a third-party tracker, November 2026; parking from an October 2025 table):

Stay To the course Resort fee Self-parking for guests
Wynn Las Vegas7 min$62.36free
Fontainebleau7 min$62.36free, but the offer had a Sep 2026 end date
Resorts World8 min$62.36$21 per 24 h; free for Nevada residents
The Venetian8 min$62.36$20 per 24 h
Caesars Palace10 min$62.30$20 per 24 h

If you are driving to golf every day, free guest parking at Wynn takes one cost off the list. Room rates were not captured, and Strip prices swing with conventions and events far more than with the golf season. See Las Vegas resort fees.

For snowbirds in an RV, the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town on Boulder Hwy is 8 minutes from Las Vegas National, with monthly rates from $699 on a KOA page snippet and $100 off the first month for first-time monthly guests.

After the round, Original Lindo Michoacan, a local Mexican institution at 2655 E Desert Inn Rd, is about 1 km from the course and good for a big table.

Overseed and when to play

The fairways are bermuda overseeded with rye. The 2026 overseed dates were not captured, and the valley-wide pattern is a closure or temporary greens for two to three weeks between late August and October, then 10 to 14 days of cart path only and slower greens. Call before a September or early October round. See Las Vegas golf overseed.

By season:

  • October and November: about 81F and 67F highs, dry; fall peak.
  • December to February: cool, cheaper, frost delays on early tee times.
  • March to May: spring peak, when the $179 figure was seen.
  • June to August: highs about 99F to 105F; first tee time only.

Who Las Vegas National suits

  • Strip groups without a car: 7 to 12 minutes from most Strip hotels.
  • Players flying without clubs: current rental sets on site.
  • Groups who find Bali Hai and Wynn too expensive but want something closer than Summerlin or Henderson.
