Mardi Gras and golf in Biloxi: plan around the 2027 parades

Mardi Gras Biloxi golf trips work well if you avoid the last parade weekend. Fat Tuesday is Feb 9, 2027. Parades close US 90 and downtown streets on afternoons and evenings, and hotels fill on the final weekend and Fat Tuesday itself. A midweek trip in late January or early February gets mild golf at winter prices with the parades as an evening extra.

Biloxi Mardi Gras 2027: the dates that matter

Carnival on the Mississippi coast is a season, not one day. Parades start in late January and build to Fat Tuesday. The 2027 schedules had not been published as of October 2026, so the table uses the 2026 pattern.

The season file rates the effect on golf as moderate. The parades close US 90 and downtown streets for afternoons and evenings, and Biloxi and Gulfport hotels fill on the final parade weekend and on Fat Tuesday.

How Mardi Gras changes a Biloxi golf trip

Rooms. Casino hotels already charge more on Friday and Saturday nights than Sunday to Thursday. Mardi Gras parade weekends are one of the event weekends that push that further. At Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis, the official calendar showed mostly $63.98 for December-January midweek nights, against $243 to $513 on February and March Saturdays (seen October 2026, before tax). Roads. US 90 runs along the beach past every casino. On parade afternoons, drive to golf on I-10, which runs 5 to 8 miles inland, and plan to be back before the streets close.

Golf. The courses are inland or off the parade routes, so a morning tee time is the easy fit. Play in the morning, watch a parade in the evening.

February golf weather

February is the tail end of the coast's winter value season.

NOAA 1991-2020 normals; wind from the Gulfport airport station, 2016-2025. January is a little cooler, with beach highs near 60F. Bermudagrass that is not overseeded is dormant and tan but playable from about December to March, and the inland Saucier courses see more frost delays than the beach. Courses for a Mardi Gras week

These are winter or late-winter prices seen in October 2026 for upcoming dates. Rates change.

Two date changes fall right around Mardi Gras 2027. The Bridges' rate card steps up on Feb 14, and The Preserve's winter rate ran to Feb 14, 2027, with its 2026 peak season starting Feb 16. Saucier on a cold morning

Fallen Oak is open only to guests of Beau Rivage, booked through the hotel with the room. Grand Bear is public. Both sit in the pine country north of I-10, where February nights average about 44F, so an early tee time may wait on frost. A 10 AM start is the safer booking.

A sample Mardi Gras golf trip

One way to see the parades without paying parade-weekend prices:

1. Wednesday: arrive, play an afternoon round at Windance or The Oaks.
2. Thursday: a full round at The Preserve or Grand Bear.
3. Friday: play the west end, The Bridges or Diamondhead, while Saturday crowds build.
4. Saturday: morning golf, then the night parade in Biloxi. This is the expensive night, so book it early or leave Saturday morning.

If you want Fat Tuesday itself, remember The Bridges is closed on Tuesdays. Pick an east-side or Gulfport round that morning and be off the roads before the 1 p.m. downtown parade. Where to stay for a Mardi Gras golf trip

Hotels on US 90 put you on the parade routes, which is fun at night and slow by day. Bases near I-10 make the golf commute easier:

• Hampton Inn & Suites D'Iberville at the I-10 / I-110 junction: $101 on Tuesday Nov 10, 2026 and $128 on Saturday Nov 21, 2026, before tax. These are November rates; parade weekends will cost more.
• Ramada Diamondhead off I-10 on the west end: from $76 on that Tuesday, about 6 minutes to the Diamondhead courses.
• Beau Rivage if Fallen Oak is in the plan, since only its guests can play it.

1. Rooms first for any weekend night near Fat Tuesday.
