Guide emblem: Biloxi events calendar for golfers: every date that moves prices

Biloxi events that matter to a golf trip are the ones that fill hotels or close US 90. The big ones are Cruisin' the Coast in early October, the Mardi Gras parade weekends before Fat Tuesday (Feb 9, 2027), the Peter Anderson festival in Ocean Springs in November and summer holiday weekends. Most other festivals barely move room prices.

This calendar lists every event in our season research, what it does to rooms and roads, and how much it matters for golf. Where 2027 dates were not yet published as of October 2026, we say so.

Quick facts

  • Hardest hotel week: Cruisin' the Coast, first full week of October.
  • Mardi Gras 2027: Carnival opens Jan 6; Fat Tuesday Feb 9.
  • Golf event: Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational (Oct 17-19, 2026). The Champions Tour event has not been played since 2022.
  • Normal pattern: Friday and Saturday nights cost more than Sunday to Thursday; event weekends override it.
  • Quietest stretch: December to February outside holidays and Mardi Gras weekends.
  • Hurricane season: June 1 to November 30.

Events that really move prices

Cruisin' the Coast (October)

The season research calls it the biggest hotel week of the year on the Mississippi coast. It runs the first full week of October in all 12 coast cities and drew 10,334 registered cars in 2025. The 2027 dates were not announced as of October 2026; a Diamondhead listing for Wed Oct 6, 2027 fits Oct 3-10, 2027, which is our inference, not a confirmed date. In 2026 Hurricane Isaias cancelled the Super Saturday concert and fireworks. Our Cruisin' the Coast golf guide covers how to play that week.

Mardi Gras (January-February)

Every coast town parades. In 2026 the big Saturday carried Biloxi's Krewe of Neptune night parade and Gulfport's Krewe of Gemini day parade, and the Gulf Coast Carnival Association parade rolled through downtown Biloxi at 1 p.m. on Fat Tuesday. The 2027 schedules usually appear in late December. See Mardi Gras Biloxi golf for a trip built around it.

Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival (November)

Ocean Springs' festival draws about 100,000 visitors and 400-plus vendors. It moved to the second weekend of November from 2025, and the 2026 dates are Nov 7-8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Amtrak adds a temporary Ocean Springs stop. East-end hotels fill and US 90 jams, which matters if you are staying in Ocean Springs to play Shell Landing or The Preserve. Our Ocean Springs golf guide covers that end of the coast.

Holidays and summer weekends

July 4 weekend is the summer peak, and in Gulfport it combines with the Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo (Jul 2-5 in 2026, the 78th). Casino hotels also price up for New Year's Eve and holiday weekends. Memorial Day to Labor Day brings busier beach and casino weekends, though golf is in its low-rate season.

Smaller events with little effect

  • Spring break brings busier beach weekends and higher weekend rates in March and April. WLOX reported lighter-than-usual Biloxi crowds in 2026, and the unofficial April beach weekend has declined.
  • Crawfish Music Festival, a three-day concert festival at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on US 90 in west Biloxi, ran Apr 17-19 in 2026 (the 33rd). It adds weekend demand nearby. 2027 dates were not set.
  • Blessing of the Fleet & Shrimp Festival is a one-day festival and boat parade at the start of shrimp season, on the Great Lawn at Harrah's Gulf Coast. The date moves: May 31 in 2026, Jul 6 in 2025.
  • Billfish Classic is an offshore big-boat tournament at Point Cadet Marina, weather-delayed to Jun 6-9 in 2026 with 60 boats. Crews fill east Biloxi hotels near Harrah's, Margaritaville and Golden Nugget for the week.
  • Christmas on the Water fills the Biloxi beachfront for one evening on the first weekend of December, with a lighted boat parade from the lighthouse to Point Cadet. The 2026 date was not yet published by the city.

Golf events in Biloxi

The coast's pro event is gone. The PGA Tour Champions tournament played at Fallen Oak from 2010, last called the Rapiscan Systems Classic, lost its title sponsor after 2022 and has not been played since. Grand Bear hosted the 2022 edition.

The main golf event now is the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, held Oct 17-19 in 2026 with a 15-team field of top-100 college programs, co-hosted by Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss. It is free and open to spectators. Fallen Oak is open only to guests of Beau Rivage, and guest tee times may be limited that week (not confirmed), so ask when you book the room. Our Fallen Oak course guide explains the access rules.

Golf courses also run their own events. Club events can block Saturday mornings at Pass Christian Isles, and The Oaks showed a Trick or Treat Tournament on Oct 31, 2026, so check the tee sheet before you plan a group round on a holiday weekend. Our The Oaks course guide has its booking rules.

How events stack with the weekly price pattern

Biloxi's casino hotels already charge more on Friday and Saturday nights, with Saturday usually the most expensive and Monday the cheapest, per the city-wide hotel data. One published group rate at Beau Rivage was $154 Sunday to Thursday against $174 Friday and Saturday, plus tax (spring 2023). Event weekends such as Cruisin' the Coast, Mardi Gras parade weekends and big Coliseum concerts override that pattern and push the whole period up. A midweek trip on a non-event week is the usual value play; see Biloxi hotel prices on weekends.

Quiet weeks to target

  • January and early February before the final parade weekend: winter rates, mild days. Sunkist books at least 13 days ahead online and The Oaks a year out.
  • Mid to late October after car week: the driest month and second golf high season.
  • Mid-November after the Peter Anderson weekend and before Thanksgiving.
  • After Labor Day in September: crowds and rates drop, but it is hot and the hurricane peak is around Sept 10.

Our best time to golf in Biloxi guide goes month by month, hurricane season golf in Biloxi covers June to November, and Biloxi golf in spring covers the peak season.

Questions golfers ask

What is the biggest event in Biloxi?

For hotels, Cruisin' the Coast. The classic-car week runs the first full week of October in all 12 coast cities (Oct 4-11 in 2026, with 10,334 cars registered in 2025) and sells out rooms from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula.

When is Mardi Gras in Biloxi in 2027?

Fat Tuesday is Feb 9, 2027, and Carnival opens Jan 6. Parade schedules usually come out in late December. Hotels fill on the final parade weekend and on Fat Tuesday.

Is there a pro golf tournament in Biloxi?

Not anymore. The PGA Tour Champions event at Fallen Oak, last called the Rapiscan Systems Classic, has not been played since 2022. The coast's main golf event now is the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, held Oct 17-19 in 2026 and free for spectators.

Which Biloxi events should golfers avoid?

Cruisin' the Coast in early October is the one to avoid or book far ahead. Mardi Gras parade weekends, the Peter Anderson festival weekend in Ocean Springs (Nov 7-8, 2026) and July 4 weekend also push up prices or traffic.

Are there quiet weeks for golf in Biloxi?

Yes. Outside holiday weeks and Mardi Gras weekends, December to February is the cheapest time for golf and casino hotels. After Labor Day, September crowds and rates also drop, though it is still hot and at the hurricane peak.

When is the Peter Anderson festival in Ocean Springs?

The 2026 festival is Saturday and Sunday, Nov 7-8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown. It draws about 100,000 visitors to 400-plus vendors, fills east-end hotels and jams US 90. The 2027 date was not published as of October 2026.

Do concerts at the Coliseum affect Biloxi hotel prices?

Big Coliseum concert weekends are one of the event types that override the normal weekday-weekend pricing pattern. The Crawfish Music Festival there ran Apr 17-19 in 2026 and adds weekend demand nearby.
