How to pay less at The Preserve
- Play Tuesday or Wednesday in fall. That saves $50 against the Thursday-to-Sunday rate.
- Wait for winter. From November 16 the flat rate is $175 every day.
- Book the late rate. $150 after 3 PM in standard time, or 2 PM in daylight saving. In late fall that is a race with the light, so nine holes may be all you get.
- Take the replay. A second 18 the same day is $100, so 36 holes on a Tuesday in fall costs $275.

The Palace Casino stay-and-play
Palace Casino Resort owns The Preserve and is the natural base for it. Its golf sales office (1-800-725-2239 ext. 2460) builds one-night stay-and-play packages: a night at the Palace and a round at The Preserve, with free slot play and food credits, per the Coastal Mississippi listing. The package prices were not posted when we checked, so call. Ask what each package includes, because the terms vary.
The Palace is AAA Four Diamond, on the Back Bay at Point Cadet, and smaller and quieter than the big beach-road casinos. Like every Biloxi casino, its rooms cost far more on Friday and Saturday nights than Sunday to Thursday. Our Palace Casino golf package guide goes into the booking detail, and Biloxi golf packages compares it with the other casino deals.
What to ask Palace golf sales
- The package price for your exact night, and whether Friday or Saturday costs more.
- Which tee times the package covers, and whether the after-3 PM rate or the $100 replay can be added.
- How much free slot play and food credit is included.
- The cancellation terms for the room and the round (the course itself has a 48-hour policy).
The course and its conservation story
The Preserve is a Jerry Pate design built with a conservation focus on protected wetlands and pine savanna just north of I-10. The full-service setup matches the price: bag service, GPS carts, practice balls and water come with every round.
What the research does not have is a published scorecard. Tee yardages, USGA ratings and slopes were not found for The Preserve, and neither was an overseed policy, so ask the shop which tees suit your group. The Preserve course guide has the layout on the map.
Dress code: collared shirt, no denim.
Cancellation: 48 hours, per the booking terms. The booking window itself is not stated.
When to play The Preserve
Spring is peak here as everywhere on the coast, and The Preserve's $250 spring rate is the highest posted green fee on the Mississippi coast. Fall is the sweet spot for weather and value: October is the driest month of the year on the coast, with highs around 79F, and the midweek rate is $175. Winter is $175 every day, with mild days but dormant bermuda at many coast courses. Summer is $175 with dawn the best time to play; highs run 88-90F from June to August. See the best time to golf in Biloxi.
What a day at The Preserve costs
Because the posted rate already includes cart, GPS, range balls and tax, it is easy to price a day. Using the 2026 fall card (September 1 to November 15):
| Plan | Cost per golfer |
|---|---|
| Thursday-Sunday morning round | $225 |
| Tuesday-Wednesday morning round | $175 |
| Any day after 3 PM (standard time) | $150 |
| Tuesday-Wednesday round plus same-day replay (36 holes) | $275 |
| Winter round from November 16 | $175 |
Add the cost of the night. Casino rooms near Point Cadet are cheapest Sunday to Thursday; at nearby Harrah's Gulf Coast, a deluxe king seen on October 25, 2026 was $115 on the Tuesday special rate against $283 on Saturday, November 21, both with the resort fee. A midweek round at The Preserve Golf Club in Vancleave with a midweek night is the cheapest way to do it.
Getting to Vancleave
The course is at 8901 Hwy 57 North, just north of I-10 at Vancleave, about 28 minutes and 15 miles from downtown Biloxi on our routed estimate. Take I-10 east from the I-110 junction. Leave extra time on the November weekend of the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival in Ocean Springs (November 7-8 in 2026), when US 90 and the east end are jammed.
Where to stay for The Preserve
| Hotel | Drive to The Preserve | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hampton Inn Biloxi/Ocean Springs | 17 min | I-10 exit 50, free breakfast |
| Gulf Hills Hotel | 22 min | Historic Ocean Springs resort |
| The Roost | 22 min | Boutique, downtown Ocean Springs |
| Hampton Inn D'Iberville | 23 min | I-10 / I-110 junction |
| Palace Casino Resort | 25 min | Owns the course; packages |
| Golden Nugget | 25 min | Point Cadet beachfront |
Drive times are routed estimates. The Ocean Springs bases put you closer and in walkable restaurant country; the Palace gives you the package and a casino night. Our guide to Ocean Springs golf covers that end of the coast.
Pair it with Shell Landing
Shell Landing in Gautier, Davis Love III's course, is the east side's value round and sits about 21 minutes from the Hampton Inn at exit 50. Shell Landing does not post rates online; GolfLink estimated about $99 with a cart in October 2026. A Preserve day plus a Shell Landing day makes a natural east-side pair. See the Shell Landing course guide or our Shell Landing golf guide.
Is The Preserve worth it?
It is worth it if you want a full-service day and do not mind paying a resort rate: everything is included and the setting is quiet wetland and pine. It is less worth it for a budget group, which can play Shell Landing nearby for less. A Tuesday or Wednesday in fall, or the $150 late rate, gets most of the experience for less.
Plan it on the map
Open the Biloxi golf map to see The Preserve in Vancleave, with its rates and drive time from each hotel. The $30 plan can pair it with Shell Landing and an east-side base, and put The Preserve on the cheapest day of your trip.
