Who can play and how to book

Emerald Bay is a membership club that sells public tee times. Book on the club's TeeItUp page or through GolfNow; GolfPass lists it as semi-private or resort. The booking window is not published.

It is the sister course of Seascape in Miramar Beach, and the two share the Guesthouse discount below.

Because prices move by date and time, check two or three days on both TeeItUp and GolfNow before you pay. The early-November 2026 deals sat in a narrow band, under $102, while a September reviewer paid $140, so the same course can cost about 40% more depending on when you play. If you are travelling with a group, ask the shop whether a group rate applies; none was published.

Ratings come from GolfNow, not the USGA database. The Combo tee (5,735 yards, 124 slope) is the sensible set for higher handicaps.

How Emerald Bay plays

Emerald Bay Golf Club is a residential course with water on 12 holes, and part of the back nine runs along Choctawhatchee Bay, so the wind matters. The top two tees both rate above 140, which puts it in the same difficulty band as Kelly Plantation from the back. From tee III (6,209, 132) it is a fair test for most visitors.

Conditions: read the reviews first

The reviews matter more here than at most Destin courses. The layout is sound and the bay holes are a real draw, but upkeep has been uneven.

This is the main caution. October 2026 GolfPass reviews were split: several complained about weedy greens and worn tees, while others rated conditions 4 to 5 out of 5. We place it third in Destin, behind Kelly Plantation and Regatta Bay, for that reason.

If the latest reviews are good, it is a fair-priced bay course. If they are poor, the same money buys a round at a better-kept course nearby. No overseed policy or aerification dates are published.

The Guesthouse: a group base with golf discounts

The club's 8-bedroom Guesthouse sleeps 16 and costs $600 to $1,300 for the whole house, with a pool and tennis. Guests get golf discounts at Emerald Bay and Seascape (amount not published). The listing we found does not say whether that price is per night, so ask the club what it covers before you plan around it.

Practice and the clubhouse

Emerald Bay Golf Club has a driving range, chipping area, putting green, a teaching pro and a golf school, which makes it one of the better places in Destin for a lesson on a golf trip. Our driving range Destin guide compares the practice set-ups. The Emerald Bay Grille has a full bar and covered outdoor seating. Club rental is available.

In late October 2026, Kelly Plantation's deals overlapped Emerald Bay's, and it was renovated in 2024, so it is usually the better buy. See the Kelly Plantation course guide, the Regatta Bay course guide and our best golf courses in Destin ranking.

Seascape: the sister course

Seascape, 556 Seascape Drive in Miramar Beach, is now only nine holes after its front nine closed for redevelopment. GolfNow deals ran $21.99-$34.99 in late October 2026, and recent reviews rate conditions poorly. It suits kids or a quick cheap nine. See cheap golf in Destin.
